I have a Mitsubishi (vs-5043) Projection TV. It worked fine until abour two years ago....one day we turned it on...there was sound but no picture. It would change chanels but the screen was black.
It has been sitting there for the past two years unused. Today I decided to try and get it to work. When you push the power button the green light comes on momentarily then goes out. You can hear a clicking sound each time you push the button (sounds like a relay).
Can you tell me where to start in order to get this thing going?

I turned the set on and everything was fine, then the screen went black and mullti-colored horizontal (arched) lines were flashing across the screen. The next day I turned the set on and everything was fine for about 5 minutes then the problem reoccures again. Haven't looked for solutions till now.
Could be a power supply problem - sounds like the feeder cap was failing slowly until the heat stress on the regulator finally gave out.. You'll want to check the following: Strm6515A (That's the regulator, R9a23 1.2 ohm, C9a15 220uf/35v , R9a0 1k all in that feed circuit for the regulator.
Yes,but first it is necessary to repair the problem = replace
both STK392-570 IC's.............Then use remote to adjust
convergence............."inside the tv" is called servicer menu = adjust after repair is complete. You can expect to replace IC's
every five years or so.......................T.
PS Try to match your problem thread model # to actual model #
ie. VS-5043 does not match WS-65909........T.
No video but good audio Mitsubishi VS5051. Check R509 and R 519, 100 ohm resistors located on the main PCB near the flyback transformer. Also bad connections on any of the yokes and the vertical output IC will cause the same problem.
I just had this same exact problem. I looked for an answer on here and could not find one. So I took the back off, vacuumed and cleaned everything out with the hose on my house vacuum, cleaned the bulbs and wiggled them around some. Voila !!!! lights on and all is working fine and better then ever. I hope this helps someone fix their problem. Just saved me tons of money and a morning of hassle.
