Question about Mobile Rack - 3.5 Inch Hot-swappable Serial ATA Drive Case (MRHOTSATA) Drive Case
I have a 4 year old 40 GB Maxtor 3.5 Series Diamondmax Plus 8 ATA/133 - and want to install a second larger drive. What will be compatable?
Any size hard drive should be compatible, but you should get the same connection type and bus speen if possible (ATA/133). If you get one from a different manufacturer, you'll have to install the bios update that comes with it and set the jumper to slave per the instructions that invariably come with any "add-on" hard drive.
