The reason for which you are not able to open the pen drive is that Pen drive was formatted on a different computer with a different file system from a different OS and then the file was copied into it. And the computer on which you are trying to open the pen drive is having probably different OS which does not support that file system Pen drive was formatted with.
So all you have to do is to open the Pen drive on a computer that has OS same as on which file was copied into.
You have to be the computers Administrator to change any values on any Hard Drive on your computer. Click start control panel user accounts on the users tab click the name of the computer administrator you must have full control. Click start click to open on my computer you should see your drive could be C: , or something right click select properties there will be an array of options select the sharing tab option then advanced sharing make sure you have a tick in the share this folder box then click permissions make sure you have all 3 boxes ticked full control changes and read in windows 7 click start control panel user accounts click on the administrators account if you have made one or you will have to create one in windows XP click start right click on my computer select open Right click the icon of your drive (It should be C:/ or something) Click Properties in the menu that comes up Click the Sharing tab Click permissions And finally, click Allow next to Full Control.
Click start control panel scroll to folder options view place a tick in show hidden files folders and drives this may vary depending on your operating system
i had purchased a pen drive of Moser Baer AZ-601USB device. previously it was working good, but since last 3 days i could not open my pen drive..it asks for formattin. i have formatted it , but after that it says your pen drive is write protected. so i could not open and use my pen drive....
have a 2gb transcend pen drive.till now it was working properly but now wen i try it says insert an drive into I.the light is glowing and it is getting detected.But i am not able to read the data.anyone can please help me.
