I cant start may laptop after formatting c-drive

If you took the hdd out and format it ..it will need to reinstall the operation system ..If you tried to install the operation system ..but now it says there is no operation system ..you need to reinstall it ..Anyway ..if it starts ..but not boot to windows..Just reinstall the operation system using a boo-table cd ..with the OS ..or the recovery partition on it ..by pressing the F12 ..and choose recovery partition ..(boot from ) if it has one ..it may be damaged when you tried to format ...
Remember to format means erase and form the memory units again ..and not installing ..reinstalling is another issue ..and when you do it ..it gives you the possibility to completely format a partition ..including C in our case..so that you are sure you end up with a clean Operation system ..

Hi, I am owning a dell inspiron 1525 for the last 3 years now. Few days ago when i was formatting my laptop to install a new OS, i accidentally deleted a partition and it became unallocated. My hard disk...

Startup from the windows 7 disk as if you were going to reinstall. Choose 'advanced' in the section where you sort out the disk to install to, and partition the unallocated space. Then exit out, do not continue to the format and install stage.
Once you have restarted into your original windows, you can format the new partition as normal.
Having said that, 10gb is pretty small for an OS partition, 15 0r 20gigs would be better and you can swap some space from your new partition to the OS partition. There are plenty of tools you can use to do this with at www.download.com.

Hi.. i tried reinstall windows xp and it get the copy from torrent site. When i started to insatlled in my laptop (its copmpaq v2000 alittle old) it keep shows a message that "ndlar " or something like...

When installing windows, put the disk in and wait, your are eventually asked what partition would you like to install windows on?

You will see that there's already a partition on the C: drive with windows already installed. Before going any further, you have to delete that partition. Once deleted, the re-installation process will re-format the C: drive, assuming you are installing onto the C: drive.

Finally, ensure you have the registration code (COA) you require, windows will ask for this once the installation is completed.

I cant access the rest of my laptops memory. The memory is separated into 2 files names acer and data and i cant access 'data' .help??

You are not talking about memory - you are talking about the hard drive. It is split into two partitions, one for the operating system and the other (named data) for storage of your files (pictures, music etc.). If you can see the data partition when you look in MY COMPUTER but you can't open it, it may need formatting. If you format it un-necessarily, you will lose EVERYTHING that is stored on that partition. Formatting can be done with your operating system (no other program is necessary) but you need to be sure there is nothing on the DATA partition that you don't want to lose.

I cant format my computer

If you are just talking about doing it from windows, then you can just go to Start>Control Panel>Administrator Tools>Computer Management then click on Disk Management, then click on the drive you want to format, right click on the drive, and then click FORMAT. You can also do this from My Computer if your computer detects the Hard drive.

You will need a boot disk, such as Windows XP disk, or Partition Magic boot disk.

Go into your BIOS and make sure that you can boot from your CD, probably best if you make this the first boot device too.

If you have a windows XP disk then this is simple and you can format during the setup.

Partition Magic or any other program, its a little more tricky beucase each one is different. I recommend downloading and burning this disk:

http://www.foxsystemspc.com/Programs/Hirens.BootCD.9.7.iso

This has pretty much every tool imagineable for bootup utilities. There are 3 or 4 differnt format tools.

You cant access the recovery partition because you probably has deleted them accidentally. Try to delete all the partitions and use the recovery CDs that come with your computer, they could help.

Good luck.

Cant format hard drive

The drive itself may have died. But, try this... with it installed on your pc, right click on my computer, then left click on manage.

When the computer management screen appears, highlight drive management on the left side of the window. Your drives will now show up on the right. Delete the partition and recreate it (by right clicking on the drive) and then try to do another format.

Hope this helps

Corrupted hard disk

If its external and its corupt and windows just won tgive you access, your most likely bonned.

Youcan try using some special utilities to see if you can recover them but often times windows just wont do it.

Usually what happens is the partition gets corrupt and windows cant tell if its NTFS or FAT and just says, " Its corrupt" and thats the end of it.

You may have to re-partition it to get it working if formatting it doesnt work.
