Problem with cable reception

When I turn on my tv the picture looks great but after 2 seconds, the picture fades and then a clank sounds hard, 2 seconds later the picture is ok and then the circle starts again and again. I checked all the cable and connection boxes even replaces some of them and they appear to be fine. I also tried the reprogramming option and now it will not change channels. I would really apreciate some help. Thanks.

Servis, thanks for the reply. I tried the dvd and other video options and work to perfection. There is something new I found out, if I watch the cable in PIP there is absolutely no problem, the problem is on the big screen. Another thing I cannot switch channels using the up and down keys, the only way is entering the digits. Well I guess I'll go purchase the materials to hook up my cable throught the video. Thanks a lot.

Hard to know what is wrong without seeing. If you own a dvd have you tried playing and is picture ok tru scart connector??.If it is then fault dosnt sound too bad,as all the processing cct is working except for the tuner section,.when you say there is a clank does the set trip out or what??.Have seen number of these with faulty micro panel which isint that expensive to repair.try the dvd and if pict still poor on this get est from sony service. If picture ok on dvd you could always tune in your cable tru video and use scart to connect instead of the tuner cct,.

Mmmm, sounds like the high voltage supply is toast. Recommend taking to repair shop; get an estimate, it may not be worth the money to repair.

W4201C no picture only sound

Try to use dvd player to play video to determine where the problems goes wrong either from the video signal of the cable provider or from the TV itself.

Please let me know any update.

All channels great reception; BUT no sound. Mute has been toggled to no effect. Any ideas? Panasonic TX-32l32

It's very possible that your tv has a speakers on/off function in the audio menu, I would check there first. If you use a cable box for reception the sound may be off from the box to tv, try volume up on the box. If you have a box reboot both the box & tv by unplugging both from wall outlet for 30 seconds then try again.

FM Reception with Jensen MSR3007

I have the exact same problem with the exact same stereo. I started by removing the in-line AM/FM/VHF Separator and connecting the antenna directly to the stereo. The static/popping/fade-out continued. Today I swapped to a new antenna, but it did not help. I swapped back to the original antenna and for a brief while, I had good reception. The I went to coil the excess antenna cable and the static/popping/fade-out resumed. I have narrowed it down to either the antenna connector coming out of the back of the stereo or an internal circuit. Either way, it does not look like a do-it-yourself fix.

Picture fades to black then reappears and repeats fades to black .

Is the sound ok. Yust the Picture. If both dissapear replace power supply board. That is the main big board with the most heatsinks on it. Main power gos from a switch board to main power supply.
