We had this on an alcove-like back porch, set up for a 7-yr-old's special clubhouse. Now the VCR won't play the tapes...just static snow...and it says to clean the VCR. I'm sure it may have happened from dust blowing around. Is it possible to take the cover off the whole thing and access the VCR? What then? I've heard that you clean something in there with Q-tips and alcohol.
Thanks in advance for any advise you give.
Regards,
Peachy

It is stupid as it serves no purpose at all-----I have removed a few----and several people I know have used a carefully cut piece of black tape to cover it up.
U have play back problems on playback SP LP SLP modes tuggles problems.Try website like Remotes.com to buy the tv original remote, have these buttons to set the correct VHS tape play back modes tuggles problems.
The TV should be on channel 2, 3, or 4 to work correctly. There might be a small switch on the back of the VCR that lets you select the channel that it wil play back on.
Also, look on the remote control for the VCR and see if there is a button labeled TV/Video, and press that while something is playing. This switches back and forth between the TV signal and the VCR signal and it could solve your problem.
THE CABLE OR ANTENA NEED TO SCREW INTO THE INPUT OF YOUR UNIT THEN A SMALL WIRE OUT TO THE TV FROM YOUR UNIT PUSH RECORD WHEN SHOW IS ON TV !SO ITS CABLE INTO VCR INPUT THEN CABLE FROM OUTPUT OF VCR TO TV ....TV ON CHANNEL 3 AND VCR UNIT ON CHANNEL 3
The most common problem is people tend to not use the correct output on the back of the combo unit, make sure that you are connected to the DVD/VCR output on the back of your combo unit, not to DVD only. If you are plugged into the back of the TV, use mode AV 2, on the front use AV1.
