Question about Jenn-Air SVE47100 Slide-In Electric Kitchen Range

Ventilation system faiure

I have a Jenn-Air Model S125, which I think is about 21 yrs old. Lately, the ventilation system works only for about 25 minutes and then quits. I always turn it on manually, but of course it goes on during the oven clean sessions.
Now I'm afraid to try the automatic oven clean cycle because if the vent system quits, there could be a fire (?)

Any ideas? Or is this oven just starting to bite the dust. Repair may be more expensive than it's worth at this point. Thanks for reply.

Sounds like the fan motor is overheating and shutting off . A long duty time  for a motor that has never been disassembles serviced and cleaned. If it is easy to do, Dissassemble and remove the motor. Most motors are available at electric motor supply outlets.Yes even tiny ones.  Replace same ,clean fan . Reassemble.

An older jenn air grill range model # S125- the left burner does not work front or back and the light stays on

Replace the switch that controls one of the two burners. One switch is bad. Look also for a blown fuse. if present.
Chances are one bad element had shorted out the switch (now stays lit) and also took out one fuse.

Hello,
The replacement clock is no longer avaliable from Jenn Air however in my appliance repair career i run across many still in the field and have included a link for this place in Ohio that will rebuild it and send it back to you. What you would need to do or have a company come and do is remove the clock and ship it to them.Their is a curcuit in the clock that ties into the oven and its very probable that the oven not working is related to teh clock. http://www.appliancetimers.com/index.php?page=db_timer_page&Timer_id=7052&Manufacturer=Jenn-Air&Appliance=Range-Stove-Oven&Model=712024 this is their link contact them and see if they can rebuild yours. If you, or even a repair company remove it to be shipped off to rebuild, take time and make a drawing of where the wires on it go so they can be reinstalled properly once its back to you freshly rebuilt. Also be sure to insulate all the wires taken off since some will be live and if come in contact with metal without proper insulation they could short out something else.

Our Jenn-Air double oven is 10 yrs old. Will not

There are 3 things that can cause this:

1. Bake or Broil element faulty. The oven cycles these on and off to reach and maintain the average setpoint temperature. If the elements heat poperly during the time they are ON, then they are OK (may be able to see them glow).

2. The temperature sensor probe is faulty. This can cause the oven to think it's hotter than it actually is.

3. The above two causes can be easily diagnosed by a technician with an ohm-meter. If they are both OK, then the problem is in the controller itself. If this is the case you may want to have us repair the controller. We see this fault quite often.

Hope this helps you out.
Regards,
Bruce

The answer your provided by email only confirmed what I suspected -- that the vent system was probably overheating and would cut out at a certain point.
Thank you for fast reply. I may have to get a pro to confirm this, as I'm an old lady with NO skills for taking stove apart and installing new vent motor.
