Question about HP Pavilion dv9000z Notebook

1 Answer

Having a little trouble getting my mic working on an HP DV2125NR. The mic is giving me nothing but static when I test it. I have tried 3 different headsets in addition to the built in mic with no luck. I have updated my audio drivers first from HP then from windows update and still the same problem. I am running Vista Ultimate x64.

I am experiencing the exact same problem. I have tried updating the drivers and the BIOS. The "roll back driver" option is greyed out and not available.

Mic breaking up

Make sure that the cable, if there is one, is not touching anything that could give it feedback or static. Touching it, it's stand if it has one, or anything like that will increase extra noises. Wind/breeze will also affect the mic greatly. Other than that, you might have a poor quality mic, or one with faulty wiring.

Display and Boot problem with HP Pavilion DV2125NR

It is normal for the bottom to get hot. The fan should keep it cool enough to run, but it sounds like perhaps your fan is not working very well anymore and should be replaced.

Does the computer act up at all when cool? If not, the first thing I would try is replacing the fan and examining the fan and heatsink assembly for proper installation, perhaps replace the heatsink compound with some Arctic Silver while you have it open.

Microphone volume goes down automatically

Go to control panel and select the sound option

There you will find microphone settings that are enabled, one of them is set to on and adjusts volume automatically as the noise increases, jsut disable that option

Cheers

Please help me

You need to check if the mic/s is working?
Are you certain the Logitech webcam has a built-in mic?
To check if the mic works go to Start - All programs - Accessories - Entertainment - Sound Recorder and test record your voice and play back to check, also try it with the laptop's built-in mic (if it has one) and the Logitech mic.
If both mics work then you have a choice of which one you can use in Skype, most likely the best one would be the Logitech one.

You need to configure your audio settings in Skype.
When you open Skype click on Tools - Options - Audio Settings and click on Select Microphone and select the microphone you are using and save the setting.

If you still have problems get back to me with all details and error messages.

My hp 915 having trouble printing photos with glosy papers

don't try to put heavy weight paper like 230 gsm in hp 915, it's not a photo printer (MFP), use upto 170-180 gsm only for gears safety, for heavy weight media try another photosmart series printer.

There is a specific download for this. Your best bet is contacting Yahoo and asking them where to find it.
