I work for Coby technical support. Our customer service phone number is 1-800-727-3592.

Do you have a button on your remote marked N/P or NTSC/PAL? If you do, try pressing it to see if this brings back the color. After trying that, if it doesn't work, or you don't have a button like that on your remote, look for a button marked PSCAN. If that doesn't work, please send an email to coby@fox-international.com. Please be sure to put "Request for tech support" in the subject line of the email.

If you feel this solution doesn't deserve a goodrating, please let me know why so that I may better assist you. Ifthere is anything more I can do to help, I will!

Won't play in color

If set it is hooked to works ok then look in the DVD player menu (this problem is listed under DVD players) for a setting that will make picture have no color (perfect black and white image).

If no, you may have a circuit problem in the unit and unless it is an expensive and newer one---replace the entire player.

DVD disks just play in black and white. No color.

This is because of the audio video format issue. You select the TV type to auto (Advisable) or to the appropriate selection such as PAL or NTSC in the DVD player to get the better output with the color.
This selection you usually find in settings > Video setup> TV Type

No longer plays color picture

Try the settings for "pal - ntsc - cvbs" video formats, if the tv and dvd aren't set the same, then this can cause the problem(usually with distortion to picture, depending on how it's mis-matched)

New lcd tv and dvd player is playing movies in black & white

1. Verify connections are color coded.

2. If they are correct, take out movie, press Play/Stop at same time on the front of the unit (not remote) to reset any settings that may have been changed.

Getting DVD's to play in color

Just had the same problem with mine. It would not play DVD's in color, but the TV's color was great. I put in a DVD and started playing it. I unpugged and replugged the S-video cord while the DVD player was playing a movie. This was an instant fix for mine. The color is back while watching DVD's. Hope this will work for you too!
