My Jazz Dv179 Digital Camcorder Won't recharge

I ran out of power so i thought i should recharge it i left it charging over night (the red light indicating a charge was on) but when i tried to turn it on nothing happened. I was very upset because it was my first digital camera and i am always careful with my stuff. if you have a solution please get back to me the instruction manual said nothing about recharging

i have the same problem have had the camera for two weeks and went to turn it on nothing but the little red flashing light so left it plugged into the wall all nite with the red indicator on and tried it in the morning and nothing again so I dont know whats happening but the battery itself says use designated charger only which I did

The camera's red light comes on but it won't charge.

the battery looks rechargable. What is the product number of the wall outlet plug in? Maybe the battery can't be charged forever with a USB.

Also, if you have the wall plug in the (cheap) instruction manual says the camera should work if you have the right

i lost the camera in the car. it was out there almost all winter. so im sure i killed the battery. chances are your battery was also frozen (before you bought it).

The battery in the camera is likely not a rechargable one. Check the print on the battery. Mine was not so I assume your is not as well. The maker of the camera was pretty cheap not supplying a rechargable battery, for the price they ask for the camera.

One possibility is that perhaps the USB port in the back of your computer may not be providing enough power for the camcorder to recharge or operate properly. Do you have another USB port to try?

If you are using desktop computer workstation, you may want to add another USB card to your computer.

I believe that the camera will not charge directly from the computer - testing this theory myself... however I went to Radio Shack tonight and they have them there for 30 bucks (a bit outragious if you as me)

The Charger has a standard two pronged plug to go into the wall. The other end goes into the camera at the back bottom. You will see the female received for the male plug.
