Kenmore Elite Oasis Model 110.27072600 Wigging out

Hi,

I have read your solutions about replacing the control board on the above model to fix the relay from shorting out. I thought it made sense, so I had took it apart today to try to have a look to make sure I could get the CB out. I cannot figure out how to get the white wiring harness off the control board. There are two screws in the middle (i removed them) but it is not intuitive to me how to get to the board from there. Any ideas?

First of all, thanks for your detailed response. Your posts are very helpful.

That is the cover I was speaking about and I will give this a try. I have studied the illustration from searspartsdirect in detail, I just could not figure out how to get the cover plate off. I was going to wait to order the UI board until I was sure I could get to the board itself.

My real question is which board to replace -- The “Control unit assembly, machine& motor” (part 1 on the diagram) or the User Interface board (part 7 on the diagram). A previous post to FixIt just said I had a bad control board, (not sure which one he was referring to).

The washer is displaying all of the following symptoms. 1. Constant beeping 2. The washer turning on by itself and displaying F2 codes after the washer has been stopped and turned off. 3. Wash times changing every second as the load is completing. (flips between 42 and 53 on a normal wash and then counts down from there). 4. Other sundry error codes showing up at different times. Very bizarre behavior from such an expensive appliance.

Any thoughts on which board might correct the problem? Or will I have to replace both of them.

The user interface is covered by a cover plate. There are a series of tabs that hold this cover in place around the perimeter of the control board. Use a small screwdriver to carefully pry the tabs back (one at a time). Also, you have to remove the control knob form the front panel, first, before the board will come out. There's an illustration you can use at searspartsdirect.com. Just type in the model number you provided and look under the "Control Panel Parts" heading for item number 10. This is the user interface cover that I'm speaking of. There is only one small wire harness to speak of that goes to this control board. Is this what you are talking about?

The constant beeping and erratic display is caused by the User Interface board (part 7). This is a noted and common problem with the Oasis.

Hello,

The F1 error code means that the control board has a detected a problem within the control itself and the control board would need to be replaced.

The part number for that control board is W10189966 it could be picked up at your local appliance parts store or online at;
searspartsdirect.com
apwagner.com
partselect.com
apdepot.com
repairclinic.com

Need to replace control board for my kenmore elite oasis 27087 washer. Am trying to find out what the correct part number is?

you need to get the complete model number
Tips for finding your unique model number
  • Look for your model sticker, tag or plate.
  • Include every digit in the model number, even if some are sized or styled differently.
  • Kenmore and Craftsman model numbers typically have three digits separated by a period.
Then go to http://www.searspartsdirect.com/partsdirect/index.action
and they will show the correct part number and you can order from them

Hope this answers all your questions

Kenmore elite oasis washer has error code f1

The F1 error code on this washer indicates a Primary Control Board failure.

It is likely that the machine control board will need to be replaced to correct this problem.

The part number for the machine control board is undetermineable because you have not provided me with the exact model # of your washer.

The procedure for replacing the machine control board is provided HERE

NOTE: Be sure to unplug the washer to disconnect electrical power before accessing internal components.

There is a slight possibility that a problem with the pressure switch hose could be causing this problem.

A pinched or twisted air hose can cause this fault code.

When you open the console, check the air hose connected to the pressure switch on the machine control board.

If it is pinched or crimped, I recommend rerouting the hose to resolve this problem.

This may fix your problem without replacing the control board.

NOTE: You may want to check for this condition before ordering the control board. Most electronic control boards cannot be returned for a refund or credit.

If you find no apparent problems with the air hose on the pressure switch, then replacing the machine control board on this washer should correct your problem. There is a risk involved in replacing this part yourself.

As noted above, you could have a problem with the air pressure hose that is not apparent upon your initial inspection. A service technician would normally need to properly and thoroughly diagnose this problem before replacing the control board.

Kenmore elite oasis he keeps flashing f2 and beeping

This symptom indicates a stuck key on the user interface control board.
Replacing this control board would most likely fix this type of problem.
The part number for the user interface for this model is 8564374.

You can order this part from SearsPartsDirect.com, RepairClinic.com, PartSelect.com etc.

The procedure for replacing this control board is shown in the images below.

Before buying any parts I suggest you access the interface ribbon and disconnect it and then connect it back and see if there is any improvement.

You might also remove the interface from the console and check the console for any stuck buttons.

Remember to unplug the washer first.
