Question about Eclipse Audio Players & Recorders

I just bought the eclipse cld and it won't turn on after charging for hours

I got the eclipse cld 4g mp3 player just the other day. it's been sitting hooked to my computer to charge for somewhere around 10 hrs, and it turns on and can be used while still hooked up. but as soon as i unhook it it turns off and won't turn back on. i've looked up all the manuals and done everything recommended, but can't get it to work. did i just get the biggest piece of junk or am i missing something?

If the rechargeable battery is more than 3 - 4 years old then the battery could be worn out. Rechargeable batteries have a finite number of charge and discharge cycles and will lose their charge capacity over time, i.e. won't charge to 100% and gradually the charge reduces until the battery won't charge up at all. OR The battery shows a 100% charge but when the adapter is disconnected the battery drops off to zero capacity in a very short time. If the battery drops to an unacceptable charge level then the battery needs to be replaced. Rechargeable batteries will fail if stored in a discharged state for long periods.

SOURCE: Mp3 Player Won't Charge

wiggle your usb cord - I had to wiggle mine a bit where it plugs into the usb port in the computer before it was recognized and listed as a device in 'my computer'. only then did it actually start charging; if your computer is not recognizing it is plugged in, it may not charge.. when i finally figured this out, the actual charging of my 4 gig audiophase mps only took 10 minutes- previously i was trying to charge it for hours without any luck.

I bought a Eclipse CLD MP3 Player, the music does not sound the same as downloaded. You can only hear the background vocals, not the lead singer. How do you fix this or is the MP3 ****?

SOURCE: I just bought a Jensen smpv-2gbub player. How do

How to charge the Jensen MP3 player - Model smpg-v2bub

Ignore instructions that came with it - they don't work.

Here's how to charge - I discovered this with mine:
1. When computer is on and at windows screen, attach cable from computer to mp3player with mp3 turned player off. It will immediately show you a connect screen on the mp3 player.

2. pressed the left side middle button twice - this will turn it on and go into music like you're playing a song.

3. Now turn the mp3 player on by switching the button on the right side of the device to the on position. It will suddenly show you it's charging - the battery on the front of the mp3 player will have a signal pulsing through it.

4. It will turn off after one minute. It's literally half charged now. Strange I know. Repeat from step 1 and it will fully charged.

If it doesn't fully charge after it turns itself off after 1 minute the 2nd time, then repeat steps from 1, one more time, but this time when it turns itself off after a minute, still leave it connected to the computer for 10 mins even though it looks like it's off. Then disconnect it physically from computer, turn it on with the on button on the right side, press the left side middle button twice and look at the battery on the screen - it should be fully charged now.

Testimonial: "Thank you very much, that would have been very helpful. Truth is, it was my fault, I was pushing the ON button instead of sliding it. DUH Peggy!!!"

How old is the unit? Before the problem started, how were you using it? Would you charge it up, listen for an hour or two, and then charge it back up, or would you let the battery drain further?

There are two things that come to mind, the new battery is not holding a charge, or there is a problem with MP3 players circuitry. Remove the battery for 60 seconds and re-seat it back in place hopefully this will reset the processor ic, if this fails take it back because there is nothing more that can be done since the item is under warranty.

Eclipse MP3 Player- Wont charge. I plug it in and it shows the hourglass then it will show a computer connecting/connected to a battery but it will not charge

People on other posts said to get a wall charger and that'll work. We looked for one, but couldn't find one. We ended up using a usb camera upload cord that had the same connector. It charged just fine after that. We have a 180 Eclipse mp3 player...I'm guessing the cord connectors are pretty universal.
