Question about Grohe 25 597 Talia Tub Filler w/Personal Hand-Held Shower

1 Answer

Leaking faucet I have what looks like a Talia tub filler w/o the hand held shower. It is not used much but recently the faucet has stated dripping. I have tried to hand tighten the handles but to no avail. I have the small decorative low roundish hot and cold water control mechanisms. I have taken the tops off, removed the screw and cover and further unscrewed the long tube-like piece but do not see any way to further tighten the valve to stop the water drip. Can you give me directions tro fix this problem.

Hi johnparker,

The dripping is caused by the ceramic cartridge leaking. It is a non servicable part.

Couldn't find the model number listed but here is a Talia schematic.

http://www.grohecatalog.com/product/25596/

The replacement cartridges are list as 4 and 5 in for hot and one for cold. Also consider replacing part #7 it is a seat.

Good Luck and please rate this response, Phil

No, you need to cut a hole. Usually an access panel is provided during the initial installation, either in the ceiling from downstairs or in the other side of the adjacent wall. But it's pretty easy to add one. After you cut a nice rectangular hole, you can cover it with a piece of painted plywood that has a trim piece attached to the plywood. The plywood is held in place with a couple of screws. When you remove the panel, the trim stays attached to the plywood. When you place the panel in the hole, the trim covers the gap between the drywall and the plywood.

Leaking shower head

Not unless you had a backward plumber , If the diverter at the faucet is open for tub, then no water will go up the shower, The shower may hold enough water up there to make it look like a drip, Even if the valve was leaking all the time, it would not go up, it would come out the faucet. It only works with pressure. Unless the valve was plumbed wrong,,, Hope this helps.
