You could either use a memory card with an adapter to plug into your usb port and download to memory card, then insert back into phone... You can also visit www.motorola.com and download Motorola Phone Tools. With this program and a usb data cable you she be able to download any compatible ringtone format to your phone.
It could be that the music you transferred has a DRM (Digital Rights Management) protection.
if that's the case, open Windows media player on ur Pc then open the music files yoou transferred. If it's on the media player window, right click on the music then choose properties - go to the 3rd tab(Media User rights) then disable the protection.
There may be many possibilities, like your software issue or any hardware fault.
First just check your sound settings, if not works, then try to reset the phone, if again nor works then you may take it to the repair Center. They will check for Firmware problem or Hardware thingy.
Just copy the music files to your chip. You can make a folder named music or such and can save music files in it. Insert the chip to your phone. Go to music player. Your phone will automatically detect all the music files and update list.
