How do I fix the heating element?

you can touch the element but be carefull the glass is thin .... so scrape it and do what you can . THEN USE A COTTON BALL AND ALCOHOL and clean the element that will get rid of the oil you left behind ,you will be fine ......Please if this answer helped , please rate this 3 or 4 stars . and keep me in the paid answer department . I found that the heating element in the top front was burned off at the end. I removed the side cover and the ceramic insulator from the broken end. I then grabbed the broken end of the spring inside the glass tube and stretched it to where I could re-attach it to the connector. It now works after getting it back together.
If you attempt this repair, UNPLUG THE OVEN FIRST!
There is also a security screw at the bottom of the side cover.

I trashed the toaster oven. Apparently even if you know how to fix something you can't get the parts. If you need to take apart an appliance to fix it, you can rest assured you cannot get a replacement part. This is our throw away society.

I have the same problem but in my case it looks like the mechanism on the door which shuts off the toater/oven when the door is opened is broken therefore nothing will work. The blue light will not go on and the heating elements are cold. Anybody know how to fix this?
