Question about Apple MacBook PC Notebook

I can not open the full screen in my macbook

The macbook only opens on the left side with size of 3/4 screen

    bottom half of the screen is blurry or wiggles or has lines on it - kind of like the old snowy tv shows. cursor won't work in that part of the screen

I can't be positive, but it sounds likely that your graphics card needs replacing. i'd give AppleCare a call - especially if you have an active AppleCare service plan for that machine - and ask them to help you troubleshoot the problem. they determined that my graphics card in my Mac Pro was kablooie right over the phone and made arrangements to send me a replacement.
the number for the AppleCare service and support line is 1-800-APL-CARE (1-800-275-2273).

Full screen google on macbook


If you are using Safari and the OS is Lion (10.7 or above), move your cursor to the upper right hand corner of the browser. You will see two diagonal arrows, diametrically opposed to one another. Click on that and your browser will dominate your screen.

Change your resolution settings in System Preferences. Open System Preferences, and Open Displays. Then Click resolution size: Best for Display.

Have you tried starting from the system disks that came with the computer? Put the disk into the computer and start up holding the C key down. And troubleshoot form there.

Macbook 16 digit serial number


You can get your MacBook's serial number by clicking the Apple symbol in the top left corner of the screen.
Then select, "About This Mac."
A window will come up showing the Apple logo and information about your computer. Click, "More Info..."
This opens the System Profiler application. The serial number for your computer will in the the list on the right side.

Screen shrunk and can't be changed?


It sounds like the display somehow simply got set to a different resolution. Open System Preferences / Displays and choose a resolution that satisfies you.

MacBook Force Eject CD


worked for me:
1)open Terminal
2)copy this into it:
diskutil unmount disk1
diskutil eject disk1
3)press enter
4)cd comes out

MacBook opening screen leaves a one inch black strip on both sides.


use the gray bar on top to move the screen to the upper left hand corner.  Then click and drag the bottom right portion of the screen to the size that you want it be.
