Hi,
Try changing the paper thickness settings, as the heat and pressure of the fuser on 'paper that is too thick' will cause the envelope to either crease, jam or reject the printing job.
Doubling the paper thickness settings would make sense as the printer would then see an envelope as a single sheet and print normally.
Try that..

Hope this helps

I think its the line up for the print.. Try setting the program you are using page size to that of the envelope, The click file print, set the paper type and size to that of the envelope (there should be a default for it) and ensure the envelope tray is selected in the print options as well.
click apply then cancel and then file / print preview. You should see the envelope and how the document lines up on it, move it around if necessary then print. If you dont see anything on the print preview it meant it isnt lined up correctly, move it around until it does or select fit to page.

Try to make first a PDF from your document (you can try 'save as' or 'export to' in the menu of your software application). Then try to print that pdf and see if it is printing still slow.

Can't address envelopes using Microsoft Word 2007 & Windows 7

Excellent question. Wish I had the answer. I have the same problem with the MFC-7440N. I hook up my old HL 1240 and it prints them fine, so I now use two printers - one for envelopes and one for normal printing. I contacted Brothers and was told that it was not the printer, but the Application. If so, then why does my old Brothers printer work? They do not have the answer.

Why do my images rub off the copy easily? I have a brother mfc-8860dn and I have the same problem. I notice that on bond paper (envelopes and letters I mail out) when they come back all the toner is...

This machine truly isn't designed for printing very high volumes of heavier bonds/envelopes. I think what you will notice is if you only print a few sheets at a time that the toner will be better fused than if you print many sheets.( you can check /test yourslef) The heavier bonds will quickly and dramatically reduce the temperature of the fuser and it can't recover on long runs of heavy paper.
Low temperature= poor fusing

Poor print quality from Brother MFC-8860DN

Replace the drum. The drum is failing.
When you replace the drum open the front door of the machine where thr drum and toner is.
Hit the clear/back button. Press 1
That resets the drum count after you replaced the unit.

Because of the design, I think you need to feed it manually. (unfortunately, one by one)
