if i remember correctly i had two different ds's a original DS and a DSI both of these have automatic game save so your daughter can play a game and just press quit when shes done and it will automatically save it. I hope this helps Merry Christmas!
Some games usually have auto save which means it save by itself. Other
games you have to find the saving point and save it yourself, for
example pokemon games, all you have to do is bring up the menu and you
will see save. Other games once you finish a stage or a board or get to
a check point, it automatically saves by it self.
you dont need lorek theres a rope near by and all you have to do is climb up it and keep on jumping on to the next ledge over and over again till you get to the top of the ice slope theres an ice ball there get lyra to push it down the ice slope and it will break the ice rock
