I've got the same problem. I submitted the problem to Crosley the night of Christmas but have not gotten a response yet.

1 you do not have usb2.0 or greater on that port

2 in your control panel in audio under voice and audio you should be able to click arrow and see usb2.0 if it is not already visible click the usb2.0 setting. The record player is looking for this setting only. If it is not there than you must install this driver. I forget where I got mine downloaded from

Tone Arm skips past first song

Hello, A. Do not try to close the case when there is a record inside!! The fact that the turntable cannot do this is not a design flaw--you'll be hard pressed to find a portable turntable that can close with a record inside because if you were to pick up the player with one inside, it could easily slip off of the spindle and scratch against the sides of the player.
B. Are you using the cueing lever to lift the tone arm before you place it on the record? Read the instructions to see where the cuing lever is (it's a little switch on the right side of the tone arm). When you lift it, the tone arm will lift up and allow you to position it wherever you want on a record, then you depress the lever to make the tone arm touch the record and being playing.
I hope that helps!

Need driver for windows to have the Crosley CR249 turntable work correctly.

Hi,
Insert the enclosed software cd into your computer.
Follow the instructions on the computer screen to install the software. If the software does not load automatically, browse the cd and open the Read Me folder for further instructions.
Connect the small end of the USB to the USB jack on the back of the unit.
Connect the other end to a USB port on your computer.
On your computer open the Record Recording software.
For instructions on operating the Record Recording software, browse the software cd and open the Read Me folder.

I got that from the manual. You don't need a separate USB driver for it, mate, but you DEFINITELY need the cd...

Hoping you have the cd,

Chris (ziraffa)

You have a warranty? I would call the company you bought it from and tell them that you had no CD. They will probably replace it.
