The first thing you need to do is start in safe mode, by toggling the F8 key before the computer starts up. Once in safemode you can do a system restore Start, Program, accessorys, system tools, system restore. Go back to a day closest to today where the computer was running perfect. If yesterday everything worked, go there. select the day and follow the prompts, wait fou it to re-boot and you should be ok. Worse case scenario we need to clear the cmos "where the battery sits", but try it this way first. If on the way to safe mode it offers you the choice of going into restore then take it from that prompt, good luck,Gym

This happens cause eighter the Hard drive or the windows instillation has crashed, normally you must format and reinstall to fix this issue..

You should first try
1.) when it boots and ask you to start normally select safe mode
2.) If it boots into safe mode, shutdown and restart
3.) Hope it works

If that fails you mist first insert the original windows cd that came with your computer.

1.) enter setup (it usually displays some keys on the screen when you turn the computer on, normally its del or F2 to enter setup.
2.) sent the first boot device to cd rom (its located in boot options or advanced)
3.) Save and exit setup (F10 then y then enter)
4.) It will display Press any key to boot from cd rom (press any key)
5.) follow the onmscreen instructions to eighter repair the windows or install a fresh one..

If the instillation fails to detect a harddrive or cant format it,, Its the harddrive thats crashed and you will need ti replace it.

That means that system installation is damaged, you need to use a windows setup disk to reinstall the system.

When it comes to the start windows normally screen, use the arrow keys and select the disable automatic reboot on error option. Then post back what it says.

Cant flash bios a1410n

Try simple first. When booting, AND BEFORE the XP logo, press f8 repeatedly until you see the boot options menu. If you miss it, you will see the xp loading logo, if so, restart and try again. From the boot menu, try the "boot with last known good configuration" option. If that doesn't fix it, re-boot, f8, and try the "safe mode" option. If it boots with any of these methods, do a full shut down and re-start again normally.
If that doesn't get it to boot normally, I would do the following. (I would, but you should only try this if you have a good understanding of windows and needed programs installing, ram replacement, hard drive repair/replacement and internal computer wiring)
Now, if your computer worked fine, then suddenly started this loop, I dont think it a bios problem. I expect you might have a hardware problem. Did you change any hardware very recently? Sometimes that stops windows from loading. Or, you could try changing the ram and retry, could be bad ram. But I think it is a hard drive issue. I think you will have to reload windows and/or replace the hard drive.
To safeguard your info, you should replace the main hard drive with another drive, load windows fully on it, then add the original drive back in as a slave/secondary drive, and retreive your personal info and files from it. Your needed programs will have to be re-installed on the newer windows drive. When you get all your files copied over (use copy and paste, not cut and paste), you can format the old drive and use it as storage, or just format and keep for the next time, or sell it. I would also run a "drive fitness program" to test it for bad sectors.
Or, if you dont need anything from your windows, you could format and install from the xp install cd. If it loads and runs, the drive is probably ok (I would still test it for bad sectors), or, if it cant load because of errors, the drive is probably bad. Retry with a new drive.

I have a L505d-gs6000 the other day it suddenly would not boot , I tried the retart repair and it hangs up.. the start normally just hangs up and loops back to where it says startup repair or start...

your best bet is to do a full system recovery. its looks like your laptop is new enough that it has a recovery partition installed on it and will recover your laptop to factory settings as it just came from the store. at the 1st screen you might have to push either f10 or f12 it will say on your screen which 1 just click on it and it will pretty much run itself

It wont boot

A Windows file is corrupt.

The 900HD comes with a bootable disc when bought as new. This is the only way you can restore the unit.

To check if F9 is working, go into BIOS by pressing F2 at start up and turn off boot booster and try again.

With a usb dvd drive, you can use a windows install disc and go into the recovery console and do chkdsk /r to see if that will sort things

To invalidate your warranty, you could remove the hard drive and slave it to another pc and run chkdsk /r on it to see if that works. If you don't know how to do this, take it to a repair shop.

My compaq Presario V6000 will not start windows, it continously loops to an options screen with the following start options; Safe mode, safe made with networking, Safe mode prompt command,Windows last...

what you are describing is the blue screen of death, meaning theres a hardware or software problem, try to boot into safe mode and perform a system restore, if that doesn't work use your XP cd, let it load the drivers and the ask it to fix the existing XP installation, anything that you have saved in my documents should be safe and the problem should be solved. If the blue screen reappears then you have a hardware problem

Ok.. I thought you said its a new Pc and the problem with boot up usually indicates a troublesome HDD. I would suggest that you utilize the warranty while you still have it..
