Question about Cross Furnace Draft Inducer Blower 115 Volts Fasco # A064
We installed a 90% efficient Tempstar furnace in 2004. The draft inducer motor (our installer calls it a venter motor) started making a "growling" noise when it started. This noise carried on until the main blower kicked in and then it stopped. We have had the "smart valve" changed once and this is the 4th inducer motor. I believe the installer is as stumped as I am. What could be the problem? The last motor only lasted one day before it started making noise.

if it has a pilot, you can follow the pilot tube from the gas valve back to the burner assembly and find it. It may not have one and if this is the case, the air flow switch is supposed to close when the inducer fan comes on . If the flue is clogged, condensation in the bottom of inducer fan(would hear cracking). then after the draft safety switch is closed, the gas vavle will get 24 volts and allow the gas valve to open
