Question about ASUS K8V-SE Deluxe Motherboard

Update video card

Hi, I currently have a Asus K8V-SE deluxe MB with a ATI Radeon 9800 Pro 256MB AGP video card and a 420watt ps. I want to update the video card to something better and was looking at the Sapphire ATI X1650 Pro 512MB card. Can you tell me if this wil work with my current MB or is there a better choice? Since this system is about 4 years old I don't think $$ will be an issue since any AGP card still out there probably won't go over a few hundred $$ anyway.
Any help would be most appreciated.
thanks

It will work fine. I looked up one for you here: http://search%20sapphire%20ati%20x1650%20pro%20512mb/
cost is $65.99 and it only requires a 350 watt psu so you are good. Hope this helps & please remember to rate my answer.

Is my linux computer compatible with windows xp software? are the parts interchangeable? example= installing a linux video card in a windows 7 tower?

Most devices that have Unix drivers will also have drivers available for some versions of Windows. Asus lists XP drivers for this board: http://www.asus.com/Motherboards/AMD_Socket_754/K8V_SE_Deluxe/#download . The K8V-SE Deluxe motherboard is not listed as Win7 compatible (but it's not listed as known incompatible either). To test if this board is Win7 compatible, update to the most recent BIOS, then use a Win7 install DVD to search for drivers and other support. (I know the Windows Update disc confirmed that my WinXP box would support Win7.)

For moving components into another computer, you will need to identify the exact device that you want to move and the slot/interface for that device. For example, since ASUS K8V-SE Deluxe motherboard has an AGP video card slot, it will not fit in a newer tower with only PCIe or PCI slots. If your Win7 tower does have an AGP slot, you may need to look in will amongst the drivers for "legacy cards". Finding an XP driver will be fairly easy. The Windows 7 driver may not exist and Win7 may not run without an external video card (if it can load at all).

I hope this helps. If you are looking at a different motherboard or wish to check specific components, please add a comment with the make and model of those parts. I'll be glad to try to find additional information. Include in your comment whether the Win7 tower is/will be running Windows 7 32-bit or 64-bit. Drivers for the 32-bit Windows are more common since they don't need the signature. (To check if a Windows machine is currently running Win7 64-bit, click Start > Control Panel > System and Security > System. If the title ends with x64, it's the 64-bit OS. Otherwise it's the 32-bit version.)

I just want to know whether SATA 1TB hdd support Asus K8V SE Deluxe Motherboard or not? and also i want to use 512 MB grafix card. can both things support to this motherboard?

Yes as long as there are SATA ports on the motherboard it will work fine.
You will need to find out if your graphics card is pci-e or agp and make sure it matches the motherboard.

Good day, dear Experts :) My MB is an Asrock 775 VMS with WinXP SP3 , Intel Celeron 2.8 GHz , 2G RAM , PS Chieftec 500V. I use the motherboard's AGP slot for VC, preferring various Radeon cards, like...

The HD4650 is a power hungry card. If the entiresystem refuses to start, then the power supply may not be able to run the configuration.
Of course, this is just a possibility, or your card is just damaged.

Graphics Card Compatibility with Asus M2A-MX motherboard

Hi Anli!

Well, any GPU with pci expess will be compatible thit that mobo of your.

Its not easy to recomend any specific, it all depends of what you needs are.

Just make sure that the card you upgrade with is for an pci express slot.
A verry good GPU coast around 150-200 euros, a top GPU card cost 400-600 euros
There are ATI cards and there are Nvidia cards, both will suit with your MoBo as long as they are for pci express.

Good luck with your new card M8!

Graphics cards

Hi noxiney, you're MSI motherboard does have 1 opened AGP 8x4x slot. You can install & run the ATI Radeon X1650 PRO AGP. You can not run PCI-Express because there are no PCI-E slots on the board. There are PCI (White in color) on the board but the AGP slot is much faster than the PCI (White in color slots). The manual states the AGP card can only support 1.5volt video cards & not 3.3volt AGP cards. (Keep this in mind when looking for an AGP card).
Below is a link to a bunch of AGP 8x4x video cards. One or two include DDR2 memory. Carefull where you buy. Check the warranty. (Longer is better). The first one on the list would be compatible. Its not DDR2 but it does have 512MB of memory.
http://www.google.com/products?hl=en&q=AGP+ATI+Radeon+X1650+PRO&um=1&ie=UTF-8&sa=X&oi=product_result_group&resnum=1&ct=title

This card is 1.5v compatable.
http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=3101648&CatId=318
& this is compatable.
http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=1642902&CatId=318
Just remember, if the card can run both 8x & 4x it should support the 1.5volt needed to function on the MB.

Enjoy!

Intel P$ 1.8 mhz on a D845HV/D845WN board

Before removing your current card swap video outputs on the PC. If currently connected to the VGA output switch to the HDMI connector AT the video card. Use the HDMI to VGA adapter that came with the video card. Check & see if the display loads Pc starts. Taking the information directly from your motherboard manual pg. 25, your AGP video can only run at, AGP supporting 1.5 V 4X AGP cards. The 9600pro runs at 8x & it is not backwards compatible. (able to run at either 8x or 4x). You could run the Sappire ATI Radeon 256MB 9550 DDR AGP 4x/8x 1.5volt card.
Here is one site: http://www.colordrives.com/sapphire-ati-radeon-9550-256mb-ddr-agp-4x-8x-video-card---retail-box.html
When you do get the video card be sure to set your bios AGP to the correct size as listed in your manual pg. 109 subsection 4.4.7
I hope this helped.

Just a thought, but have you tried going into the bios setup and setting bios to system defaults or safe setting, saving and rebooting?
