I know this wont help right a way but i had that same exact problem but the only solution is to go to the geek squad. They were the only ones with the answers. sorry. Any other company has no clue what they are talking about no offence to other companies.

What dya mean by everything. Tell me more about the issue. Ok answer these first: Does the iPod power on? Does it show up in iTunes when it is hooked up to the computer..? Or wait.. Are you even using iTunes??? What kind of computer dya have? Windows XP, Vista, 7? Or dya have a Mac OS 10.4.x, 10.5.x, 10.6.x (Tiger, Leopard, Snow Leopard respectively) Has your iPod ever been dropped(physical/liquid damage)? Let me know about these thing and I am sure that i can fix your iPod :D
Your fu..ed cause these ipod touches are fragile and don't like falling and crashing to the ground. I would suggest you purchase an In Case cover next time.
Chalk this thing up as a loss since it is out of warranty and buy you a 2nd Gen or 3rd Gen ipod touch.
If your a cheap bastard, then you can pay someone to crack this thing open and fix it for you, but the time involved might prove costly compared to getting a new unit. Were such a throw away society now a days.
my advice would be to back up your library and format the ipod.
(With iTunes up) plug in ipod and wait for it to connect. once its connected, click on your ipod on the left, on the bottom of itunes it should say something like (restore ipod) that's what you want, click that and leave it be and the ipod should be back to normal. if not then you would have to take it into an apple store. There, they can assist your further.
Well, how long ago was it in water, and how long was it in the water itself?
I dropped an MP3 one time in water, and it took a LONG time to dry out, even then.. the MP3 did NOT work properly ever agian. There was many glitches with it. You may be dry out of luck with this.
Sounds like the logic board is broken if it doesn't turn on with any chargers or any computers. You can try to replace the motherboard yourself, the part is available on any auction website. There is an iPod classic Repair service that can fix it for you. There is an iPod classic repair guide that can show you how to do the repair yourself.
