Can't remove lock logo on screen

A lock logo comes up on my screen when selecting "menu" or "mode". Which means i cannot change the settings e.g from movie mode to still mode. I cannot find my manual to work out how to take the lock off and have no idea how it got there in the first place. Any suggestions????

Re: Can't remove lock logo on screen

I just had the same problem had to go on line and read the manual. Manual can be found on this link if you have any other problems. Anyway your camera is probably in green mode all you have to do is turn on the camera and and press and release the trash button that has the green dot on it. Then you are all set.

What does the blue light in the corner of the screen mean

Sorry could not find the exact manual. however you can find it from this one as they ought to be similar

It is called the METERING MENU - three modes (Centre; multi and SPOT). you are set for that spot. you can change that. see page 23

The Metering setting will affect how your camera focuses when capturing an image. Depending on your selection, the camera will be more sensitive to focusing on particular areas in the display and adjust the image color and lighting accordingly.
Center - Averages the light metered from the entire frame, but giving greater weight to the subject in the center
Multi - Used in standard conditions the camera divides and adjusts the settings of the image into several zones for light metering such as complex light conditions, position of subject, brightness, background, direct light and scenes
Spot - Meters the area within the spot point frame at the center of the LCD to set the exposure on the subject in the center of the monitor.

1) Press the M (MENU)/SET button to open the menus for the current mode.
2) Press the LEFT or RIGHT direction control buttons to scroll and select the chosen menu.
3) Press the UP or DOWN direction control buttons to scroll through the menu options.
4) Press the M (MENU)/SET button to select the desired option.
5) A selected option icon will appear on the selected item.
6) Press the LEFT or RIGHT button to select the next menu item. 7) Press the MODE button to exit the menu and return to your previous mode. 23
8) An icon reflecting your selection will display on the LCD screen 9) Remember that this setting will be saved by your camera until you manually change the setting or restore the camera?s default factory settings.

I always have inacurate focusing of the camera.. is it fixable or its totally damaged?

Your camera has a possibility to change focus mode.
The easy way is Easy shooting, everything should be automatic. When you lower the lens cover, to switch to shooting mode, you can see some words and logos to the left of the screen. On top is just the word HOME. bottom is MENU. Just above menu, it says AUTO or EASY. If not, go there and change it to easy or auto, so the focusing should be compete automatic. If that works, you were not shooting in Automatic. You could check on the right side of the same screen. Top is for flash, middle for focus and bottom for display
If the middle logo is a flower with or without auto or with a magnifying glass, you are not in the Intelligent Auto Adjustment mode. and that explains a lot. If the settings don't change a thing, you have to fear the worst.
But before going to a dealer, check the manual, because there are so many settings, and only with the camera in your hand it is possible to see what is relevant and what not.

My polaroid iS2132 won't change settings when I turn the mode dial/Can't set the intelligent scene mode.

When you put the Mode dail to the SCN mode, It will enter the last used Scene mode. THEN press the MENU button to select other scene mode.
Don't turn any dail. Use the navigation controls left and right from the OK button, to move through the section. Press OK button to save and activate the selected scene mode.

Nikon d3100 won't let me take a pic, battery charged . Card in,,worked most of the day vacation Msb

I assume your camera is on. Menu is showing and so on. Sometimes, you (accidentally) just turned the mode dail to another setting then automatic, or the one you are used to. If it then is to dark, the camera won't work. Put the dail on automatic (green camera logo) and try again. Also check if the lens is in the lock position. If you never changed any settings in the menu's just reset the camera to the factory settings and start over in automatic mode.

Playback menu as described previously.
3. Use the Up/Down navigation buttons to
select One to protect this picture/video,
or select All to protect all pictures/videos in
the internal memory or memory card. Then
press the Right navigation button.
4. Use the function button to select Yes to lock
the displayed picture/video or Unlock
to unlock it, and use the Up/Down

return to the Playback menu.
5. A key icon will appear on the top of
the screen to indicate that the picture/
video is protected.
6. Select reset to cancel protection for all
files that have been placed in the protected
Also keep in mind the card it self has a write protect on it if you hold the sd in front of you label side up its on the left hand side its just a little slide tab.

My Nikon D200 just started locking when I depressed the shutter. It gave me the R25 reading in the view finder. If I depress the ae focus lock it fires. What is going on?

Check your Custom Setting Menu, a1-a10:AUTOFOCUS.

Press Menu, select the Custom Menu Setting (looks like a pencil).
Select "AUTOFOCUS" and move to right.

a1 AF-C Mode Priority. Set to "Focus"

a2 AF-S Mode Priority. Default is "Focus", change this to "Release". This will enable the camera to fire anytime you press the shutter, regardless of if it's in focus or not. Use this setting if your having problems locking up, especially using some different lenses.

Try these settings. They may work for you.

Cannot select "camera menu" from the Top Menu

If the camera is in Auto mode those items cannot be selected because the camera is already using factory default settings and they cannot be changed, If you press the Ok button and change to P mode then you will be able to access all of those menu settings and make any changes you wish to the camera settings.

Flash mode locked to Off

Try this, I had the same problem. Here is what I did, I powered off the camera then with the menu button pressed I turned the camera on. This must set the camera back to default settings. I was then able to turn my flash to auto or any other selection.
