This happened to me before, after a couple of weeks of sitting on my desk, I desided to sell it on ebay. I tried to turn it on again to verify that it was indeed dead. It turned on and it worked fine for like 3 months. . . and then in happened again last thursday, FML

Let the battery run out. That's all you can really do. It seems that it freezes more often the longer you have it

Is it still on or does it stay frozen off? If it's still on and frozen, simple hold the top button and the home button at the same time and wait until it restarts and the apple logo will appear. Then if it does this again later on when using the iPod, do the same thing and plug it into the computer and do a full restore or upgrade.

Says goodbye on screen and seems like it froze up.

Find the reset button ( Probably on the back of the unit ) and press that to reset it. If it froze up, then resetting it should work to fix the problem.

Zune frozen with logo

Let the battery drain completely and then plug into computer. There was a leap year glitch from Microsoft and the fix is working today. Ours froze yesterday and it's OK this morning. This only fixes those that froze Dec. 31st.
