Question about Whirlpool GU2400XTPS Built-in Dishwasher

Top spinner The very top plastic spinner (looks like a hurricane icon on a weather map) keeps coming out when the washer is on. The part doesn't look broken, and when I try to plug it back in, it stays, albiet loosley. A little tug and I can pull it back out again. Any suggestions as to how I get this part to stay in better? Thanks!!!

Re: Top spinner

Hi - I have the same problem. I found a parts site that sells the spinner and the parts to hold it in place. Maybe your parts are broken. Read the customer review at the bottom. Anyways, maybe this will help. If nothing else, you know where to get the part if you need a new one.

The top water spinner arm fell off, how to get it

This just happened to me. The spinner arm fell off. It left behind two pieces of plastic attached to the roof of the machine: a grey sunburst shape, and within that, a white circle with two prongs. It looks like the spinner arm should snap onto the white circle with prongs . . . but you can't just press it back on, because there is no resistance on the other side and the white circle just becomes displaced instead of snapping together.

But the good news is that the grey sunburst screws on and off! Unscrew it until it comes free from the roof of your machine. Now snap the white circle and the spinner arm together, with the grey sunburst between them. Give it a test spin to make sure it's all together and working, and then screw the whole assembly back onto the roof of your dishwasher.

Apologies for the lack of pictures . . . this must sound crazy to anyone who's not looking at what I'm looking at--but it worked!

Maytag model dwu9200aax pieces of plastic and cloth clog some of the rinse holes on the spinning rinse to take apart rinse arm to clean it?

The top spinner part can simply be pulled off by grasping it near its hub and pulling downward. Push it back on and push in the locking clip in the center. The bottom spinner can be removed, First unscrew the center column. Hold the spinner with one hand, turn the base of the center column counter clockwise. Then lift column off. Then the spinner should lift off of the keyed white plastic base. Underneath it, on the neck off of which you lifted it, are two plastic washers that form a seal (supposedly). Good to clean these to make spinner rotate freely, but be careful not to break them taking them off. If you want to go farther in, there is the point of a strange shaped plastic nut sticking up into the base of the column. If you remove this, and the 6 torx screws holding the strainer cap, you can get it all out to clean it up (I had bits of plastic bag in the slots of a 4-armed thing that apparently sprays the filter screen), and scrub the washer in the bottom. Remarkably yucky down there in a 10 year old installation...

Water won't go to the top spinners

there is probably food stuck in the spinner,

ive had to remove the spinners on my mind one a year, and use the pressure washer on them, to get out the small chucks of food, and or plastic pieces.

Yes i know we can rinse more, but hey no one is perfect :)

Top rack not cleaning, possibly spinner not spinning?

Try twirling the spinner by hand to see if it is binding. If it looks ok then there could be something plugging the water passage to the spinner. If you have access to a water hose you could run water into that verticle passage pipe and see if there is an obstruction. If so it can be taken apart for cleaning.

I have a Kenmore Ultra Wash Dishwasher and the 3rd level spinner broke off. I have a new one and now need to know how to replace it.

the manifold in the back of the dishwasher needs to come out. you can either pop it all the way out it only undo it halfway if your arm is small enough.. there are either 2 tension clips or 2 screws holding it to the top and back. if you undo the top of the manifold and pull it down you should be able to slide the new part in place. the plastic push pin goes on top of the manifold and the spinner goes on the other side. it may be a little difficlt to push the 2 together..

Need to install a new top spinner on the roof of our dishwasher

the medium sized plastic piece slides into the spinner and you put it upto the manifold. you have to remove the manifold so that you can push the smaller piece of plastic through the top of the manifold into the medium sized piece which would be holding the spinner up.

The "spinner, 3rd level wash" kept falling off. Ordered new part, no instructions with it.

I had the same problem, the 3rd level spinner falling off. Without getting into my saga story, save yourself some $$$.
-You will need a screw & washer to replace the plastic thumbtack. The screw will have to be able to screw into the female part of the spinner; the washer will keep the screw from falling out of the hole in the flat hose on the ceiling of the dishwasher.
-If you look closely at the spinner(the part that keeps falling off), you will notice it comes apart. With a flat head screwdriver, separate the 2 parts. (there are 3 parts all together; Keep the round center piece sticking out of the top peice)
--Remove the top drawer of the dishwasher to give you some room to work
-Remove the screw on the "ceiling" of the dishwasher(it is located further back from where the spinner goes) to allow the flat pastic tube to come down low enough for you to get in behind it.(set that screw aside in a safe place; you will put it back later)
-Remove the pastic thumbtack from the hole in the flat plastic tube if it is there & replace with a washer and screw.
-Take the top 2 peices of the spinner, together as assembled & screw the screw into the female portion of the spinner.
-snap on the 3rd piece of the spinner
-replace the screw you took out earlier, securing the flat plastic tube.
-place top drawer
Voila, you are done!! You just saved yourself $20+
