    When I perform *#06# on the handset, nothing happens. Neither is the IMEI code on the back of the phone or battery.

If your tring to give someone ringtones or music you just type in same code as the other person. its normally 9999, 1111, 0000, your regular unlock security code, or the last 4 digits of your number. If it's for something else I can't really help you. Sorry.
