SOURCE: Can't connect to the Internet via router

Well, this is a very generalized problem that others have, so i'll give you some starting tips. If you can connect when you plug your computer directly into the modem, then it sounds like your modem is bonding to your computer. There are a couple ways to fix this. The easiest is to ask your router to clone your MAC addess (not to be confused with a mac computer, a MAC address is a 10 digit code that uniquely identifies your computer on a network). See the attached image to find where it should be. c26d492.jpg
Once you set it to clone your machines mac address, unplug the computer from the modem, and plug in the router. If this doesn't fix it, please comment back and we'll try some other things. If it does, then give a good rating :-)

I had a power shutdown and after my Cisco E1000 router suddenly stopped working. All the lights just completly froze (not blinking) just froze and i dont know what to do. Any help would be greatly app

Try resetting the router to factory defaults. With power on the router, hold the reset button in for 15 seconds, it'll be reset to factory defaults.

Try this at least 5 times before giving up!

Hope this helps!

Where do you get cisco connect

Cisco connect is the software that comes with the router.
You might have installed the Cisco connect software while installing your router for the first time.
Once you open the Cisco connect software for E1000, you will find the password to access the wireless network.
If you have not installed Cisco connect then you can open the setup page of the router and check the wireless settings.

My Linksys E1000 is constantly resetting itself to its factory default. It will display my old Wireless Server but that will not give any valid IP addresses when I connect to it. How can I get my router to...

Hi Brian, I haven't had this specific problem, but I did have trouble with my E1000 losing connection often. What seemed to solve this for me was to update the Firmware. Have you tried that? You can go to Cisco's homepage and download the proper firmware for your router by following this link http://goo.gl/Ildp6. You will have to select your hardware version which you can tell by looking at the tags on the bottom of your router.

You are getting the pop up asking for Internet access server drivers.
actually that is a bug in the Cisco connect server.
You can uninstall the cisco connect from that computer and reinstall the CD.
OR go to the device manager on that computer.
Under other devices you will find that internet access server with the yellow exclaimation mark.
Right click on it and disable it.
You can also setup E1000 router without CD or Cisco connect software.
