Question about Hitachi DV-PF2U DVD Player/VCR

Timed recordings for VCR

Gave the unit to father in law...wants to do timed recordings.

i pitched the manual.

apparently, you have to work thru the on screen menu with the play, stop, FF buttons rather than arrow and enter...wierd or broken maybe.

can't figure out how to finalize after going thru menu setting up date, time, channel to record.

You can get the manual here. The bad thing is you need to sign up with them but it is free. You will see the manual on the page when you open the link.

Good Luck

SOURCE: I have freestanding Series 8 dishwasher. Lately during the filling cycle water hammer is occurring. How can this be resolved

a 6ya Technician can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repair professionals here in the US.
click here to Talk to a Technician (only for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

My father in law gave me a technics sl 1360 turntable he bought in japan in the 60's or 70's. It was boxed up for decades. It cant hold a constant speed. it ebs up and down. any thoughts?

If you can actually hear a change in musical pitch as the speed goes up and down, it's possible it needs to be lubricated. Technics used to sell a silicon oil for this purpose, but no longer. You'll find suggestions for a substitute with a Google search. If you can't hear a change in pitch, but can see the speed variance on the markings around the platter, don't worry. This is normal behavior. What you're seeing is an infinitesimally small amount of change. My Technics 1300 has always done this, especially until it's been running for 10 to 15 minutes. It will even vary between the outer and inner grooves. It's an analog control system and not as "locked-down" as the later digital units, but it's far better than any other non-digital design.

I've been copying a numerous VHS recordings to DVD format on my Panasonic VCR combi, and now it tells me 'this material can not be copied' or words to that effect! Regards, Joel

the problem is dvi incripting the vcr has detected that its connected to a unit that may copy images to another therefore breaking copyright law try using an icp breaker to stop the dvd from talking to the dvd
it works every time
