It's a generic Windows message, and is exactly what is says. For instance if you execute a game twice, you would get that error for the second instance.

If you don't see a second. Check Task Manager and kill (stop) there.

Dell Inspiron 546 MT : replaced cmos battery due to checkpoint error, and now receive a CMOS checksum error and asks to either press F! to run setup or pree F2 to load default values and continue. Wh

Hello there, I am the computer technician that will be assisting you today.
My name is Norman-Wynne Damstra.

Welcome to Fixya, Jbellovary.

Since the battery was removed the CMOS would have Cleared as it needs power from a battery to retain the settings.

This therefore means that the BIOS/CMOS has already been reset to defaults and this is why it is giving you this message.

It sees that the settings have changed and it wants you to tell it why.
When this screen comes up Press F2 to load defaults.

Then let it run.
You will now need to enter the BIOS/CMOS by tapping the delete key on first powering on your computer, until you see the BIOS/CMOS screen.

Now set the date and time and set the Boot priority to HDD, then DVD drive.
Also enable USB2.0 support if it is disabled. Check that your drives are being detected.

Save and exit setup.

It should now be A-Okay.

Take care!

What does diagnostic lights mean in dell studio 1535? How do I understand what the problem is by looking at the flashing lights? For instance, what is the problem if mute and volume up lights are blinking...

I have seen questions about the diagnostic codes (volume/mute LEDs) on Dell Studio 1735 1737 laptops where the Mute and Volume up lights stay on while the Volume down Blinks. So far as I can tell, by searching the web, no one has posted the meaning of these lights.

Well here is a link to tell what the light codes mean. If your system has power but is not performing a POST just check if the mute, volume up, and volume down multimedia buttons are lit in a sequence indicating a system problem.

Here is the wesite to explain those POST failure codes.......

Hello guys I just read in a previous thred about an error cod I got on my Dell inspiring 1545. the error code 0F00:1332 everyone posted hardrive issues but I already used my warranty before to get a new...

If you ran diagnostics with an empty cd/dvd drive you will get error code like this.

If means that cd/dvd drive was not able to find a good media.

If you are still getting an error even cd/dvd reads any media during the test, i would suggest to replace your hard drive.

Hope this helps.

Erroe Code 0146 (Dell Inspiron E1505) MSD Unit 0 DST Log contains previous error. ???

Hi ! Error code is this error code 2000 - 0146??? if that is the error message you have to contact dell technical support to replace the hard drive because that error code mean that the hard drive is already faulty. You can Reinstall the Hard drive as well but it is not guarantee that it will fix the issue. Most of the time dell will send a hard drive replacement for that kind of message if the system is still in warranty it will be free but if not you have to pay for the replacement. Hope this will help you . God Bless!

I open LuckyWire and it keeps saying "An instance

I would do a CTRL-ALT-DEL and look at the processes running. If you can identify the process associated with that program, terminate it and you'll be OK.
Sometimes a program stops running and you can't see it on the task bar, but it's process is still running.
var fctb_tool=null; function FCTB_Init_d362655cb7f747479026eb127d6c68fb(t) { fctb_tool=t; start(fctb_tool); }

How can I get new windows to open at the left side of the screen?

This is the default behavior for windows when opening a new window when another instance of the application is already running (if multiple instances are allowd to run). I have never seen any kind of information or registry hacks that can override this behavior. If you are just looking at keeping Task Manager visible, you can always use the Options menu in Task Manager and check the Always on Top option. Any new windows opened will appear under the Task Manager.
