How do you know if you need to order the IC (hybrid) - IC805 or IC804 CONV OUT? They both have the same part number STK392-110 from the JVC.com website. Is there any difference or does it depend on the model number or year my specific TV was made? Please help.
Just make sure they are stk392-110 I have the same tv and I just replaced them, I used generic chips and I have the same tv, also check on that board for burnt resistors alot of the time they go bad, there with be burn marks or or small cracks in them

The convergence ICs have failed. You can get the JVC AV48WP74 - AV65WP74 convergence repair kit from www.tvrepairworld.com which has the ICs and resistors plus the CD with detailed repair instructions.
chances are that IC804 has failed. You have two ICs that allow you to
converge the three colors. IC804 is used for Red Horizontal and
Vertical Convergence and also for Green Vertical Convergence. IC805 is
used for Blue Horizontal and Vertical Convergence and also for Green
Horizontal Convergence. These ICs run very hot and have a very high
failure rate which sometimes will cause damage to resistors in their
associated circuits. They are both STK-110 and it's best to replace
them both at the same time. It's also a good idea to upgrade them to
either STK-150 or STK-180. These will run a lot cooler than the
Before replacement do
inspect for any open or overheated resistors as I stated earlier. Being
you only have problems with Red Convergence the plus and minus power
supplies should be okay since they are common to both ICs.
www.tritronicsinc.com. They have the Hitachi CZ00433 (STK392-150) in
stock for $20.11 ($32.43 retail). These are Hitachi OEMs. I've had very
good results replacing STK392-110s with these chips. Do check for open
or overheated resistors before replacing these chips
RICKY-SOUNDS LIKE THE USUAL CONVERGENCE IC FAILURE.TRY LOOKING IN W/BACK OFF TV AND YOU'LL SEE COUPLE OF STK392-??? IC CHIPS,LOCATED ON A BIG METAL HEAT SINK.RETRIEVE THE EXACT PART # AND YOU CAN ORDER THEM AND INSTALL THEM YOURSELF IF YOU ARE GOOD AT SOLDERING ELECTRONIC PARTS,IF NOT BEST BET IS CALL AN EXPERIENCED JVC TECH.JOE TV
1st guess is bad convergence ic-either IC804 or IC805. Both are part #STK392-110. May be bad connections in convergence circuit, or open resistor(s) As for too much green, not sure, shouldn't be because of convergenece circuit, possibly green CRT screen voltage needs adjustment.
You need to check first for solder splashes or bridges created when the new Ic's were installed, the next thing to check is a disconected conector or might not in place fully and then check for loose conections in the main board, all that movement might have loosen something more than before, check the horizontal driver transformer, the horizontal output transistor.Be careful
