dual cafafe. The right side basket is not working. Water is running all over the counter top. can you buy a replacement?

  • Anonymous Apr 04, 2009

We have had the dual coffee pot for about a year, and recently the one side has started to leak all over the countertop. So we now have two pots, but only one side that functions. I will try customer service to see if we can purchase another basket or two. It seems the basket has a very short life cycle. Thankyou.

With the BES860 set to Dual Wall for full automation, even on the lowest auto grind volume setting, the grind volume is too large and it spills over. This is on double setting and using the double filter...

If your using the dial gauge with a dual wall basket, you need to leave the dial in the dual wall setting. If you move it beyond the dual wall setting, you are basically adding more volume to the basket. Leave it in the dual wall setting for dual wall baskets.

Otherwise it may be faulty, it could be your grind setting, try it on 13 and see how it goes.

The filter is filling w/ liquid instead of draining into the coffee pot.

The release button on the bottom of the grounds basket is not working or the small drain hole is plugged. Make sure that you are using the correct size #4 paper filters to hold the coffee grounds. Remove the basket and check to make sure that the release button is working freely. Put some water in the basket and push the bottom of the basket. The water should drain. If it does not drain, You will need to replace the basket assembly.
Check the carafe to make sure that the lid of the carafe is pushing the drain button up to release the liquid in the basket.
Let me know if you have any other questions. Thanks.

Here is a link to the basket replacement. The price of the basket replacement may be a little to much cost wise for you and might be better to get a new washer. Let me know if you want to replace the basket and I could walk you thru the replacement process.

Will not completely spin water out of clothes, must restart spin cycle to spin out

I do not know the model of washer you have but it sounds like your shock absorbers that dampen the baskets movements, are needing to be replaced. These limit the movement of the basket so that the motor is able to spin up to the proper speed. Otherwise the load is not balanced and the motor can not spin the basket.

Inner basket scrapes on bottom of liner tub during spinn cycle

It sounds like the basket drive block is worn. If it looks like the basket drive block has slid down the brake & drive tube (I believe you're calling it the spindle), it's definitely worn out. When this part is in place it sits on top of the brake & drive tube and won't allow the basket to go lower. To replace this, remove the cabinet to gain access to the the inner basket which you will have to remove. On the top of the brake & drive tube you will see 2 small tabs. Align these with the cutouts on the basket drive block. Mount the drum back on top, and tighten the spanner nut. Reassemble the cabinet and you should be good to go.
Let me know if you need more assistance.
Good luck!
