Can be a bit more precise when u say its not being recognized. Please follow the below steps and revert back with results so that i can help u: 1.Look at the router there should be four lights generally (which will have either numbers or LAN1,LAN 2,etc,etc).See if the light of the port u have connected to is lightup,if so proceed to step 3. 2.Click on Start>>control panel>>Network and sharing centre(or Network and Internet) and select the "Manage network connections" which would be on the left pane of the window.Right click on Local area connection and select "Enable" if disabled. 3.Now clik on start and in the search box type "cmd" and you will see the command prompt appear as a result above, right click on it and select "Run as administrator" now in the black window type "ipconfig" and hit enter. If u see something like 192.168.1.X, then ur router is working fine.Connect ur modem directly to your computer and check if its working, please try these steps and revert back with results :)

I installed a linksys wireless-G Broadband Router and my laptop does not get a signal. Help please

What is the Operating system on the laptop ?
If it is XP then in the bottom right hand corner you will find Wireless network connection ( looks like 1 computer monitor). Use that icon to connect to the wireless network.
If it is windows Vista, then in the bottom right hand corner you will find 2 computer monitor icon. Use that icon to connect to the wireless network.
If it is Windows 98/ME/2000 then use the adapter utility to connect to the wireless network.
For MAC you will see the AIRPORT icon at the top.

Check the wireless settings of the router first . Make sure that yopu have all the wireless settings of the router. If you are not sure about the settings, then open the router set up and check the settings.

Wifi getting connected with new linksys

You need to call Linksys again for them to help you setup the other computer. For the none-working computer, you don't need to run the setup CD for the router. All you need to do is connect to wireless network like what you did on the working laptop.

Trying to install Linksys wrt54gx2 srx200 on my vista computer

who is your broadband provider? Is this cable or DSL connection? Setting up the router is done via http://192.168.1.1. Leave username blank, password is admin. If you have Cable ISP, then make sure you have "Automatic Configuration-DHCP" selected and MAC address Clone is enabled on Setup > MAC address Clone (click Clone, and Apply). If it's a DSL connection and your broadband provider gave you a username and password, select "PPPoE" for Internet Connecton Type, and enter in your DSL username and password. Next verify if your modem is communicating with the router by going to the Status page and by verifying that you have an Internet IP address. If none, wait for a few minutes and power cycle your modem and router.
