Question about Engel Freezer 22 Qt. Fridge/Freezer
When I turn on my Engel 40ltr car fridge the motor starts and runs for about 5-10 seconds. Then it sounds like it gets an increased load, (motor sound becomes louder & deeper. Then it stops altogether. After a few seconds it starts the same cycle again - ad infinatum.
You have problem with the motor compressor,it is trying to start, but cannot for one reason or another, could be siezed motor, sticking start relay.etc'
It is stopping and starting due to the motor overload device cutting in and out. it acts as a safety device.
This is usually associated with a serious malfunction..Plz rate my solution.

On the circuit board for the swing control you will find a switching transistor which has an overheat cut off attached - it may be that the switching transistor is overheating or the temp monitor is U/S - you can check this by doing a short run with the overheat cut off bypassed. The switching transistor uses the curcuit board box as a heatsink - If in doubt it may be worth changing both.
