Hi! Deatach the front panel, take a ball pen and press it against a small RESET button. Now try inserting a cd.

Sir,

Follow these steps.....

Step 1.Check all connections, such as from player to amplifier or receiver and receiver to speaker. Check and clean contacts on RCA jacks and cables and try a different input on the amplifier or receiver.

Step2 :Clean the lens. Use only a special CD lens cleaner and follow the instructions carefully.

Step3 : Check the traverse assembly (the metal rod that the laser travels along and the gear that drives it) if CDs aren't recognized or won't play, frequent skipping occurs at random, CDs randomly get stuck in one spot, the player can't find tracks correctly, or cleaning the lens doesn't work. Dust and lint may be interrupting its function.

Step 4: Have the laser-head assembly checked by a repair person if the traverse assembly seems intact and free of debris.

Step5 : Check for a stuck CD if the drawer won't open or close or will only partially open or close. If there isn't one, have gears and belts replaced.
Step6: Lubricate the gears if the CD player will only play certain tracks or up to a particular point on a disc.
Step7: Look for broken plastic parts, such as gears and clips.

Step8: Look for loose or broken internal connections.

Step9: Have the power supply replaced if your CD player overheats.

Thanks
good luck

If it stops completely after playing 1 track and you have to select again for another track and then it again plays that track and again stops then it is quite possible you have selected a option single track in the device settings. just check out in the settings and make it proper.

The cd plays first 2 tracks only and shuts on 3rd

There may be foreign material on the sled motor and or the sled shaft keeping the steping motor from advancing to next track. Especially if it does this on all CD's you try. You will have to have the unit cleaned and also the stepping motor could have a chiped gear on it, the only reasonable way to solve this problem is to have the laser assembly replaced.

the rails on the laser slead need cleaned..the grease gets hard/dirty and stops it from moving skip it to track 16 to move the dirt off the track..

CD player skips on early tracks

The lens assembly in a CD player glides along on a two rail track, kinda like a railroad track except tubular. The lens carriage is moved over this track by a small motor driving a worm gear. (Think long, tubular and spiral). If the rail tracks or the worm gear dry up or have dust accumulating on them, this could be the cause. Normally they have a light gear oil or lithium grease on them to keep them lubricated.

Player stuck in scan mode

Hi...

Unplug it from the wall...give it a couple minutes. Try playing a CD again (using manual controls) If that works , your remote might be the issue.

If you bought the thing new you paid good $$ for it.

It's worth having it looked at by a Pro.

CD Player Acting Up

some cd players have a feature that is called intro. it plays typically the first 4 to 10 seconds of a song & goes to the next track. it does this to every song on the cd. see if intro is on your display or if it's turned on in the menu. i hope it works. good luck.
