Internal fan in refrigrator dont work & noise of door alarm repeat every minute without door opening

My best guess is the 'door closed' sensor is not working correctly, to verify, open the fridge door, find the button the would be pushed when you close the door (often on the hinge side). Push the button with your finger and if the light goes out and the fan starts up, it needs adjusting. If the light does not go out, it needs replacing.

Good luck.

How To Clean Stainless Steel Appliances

First do a quick wipe of the appliance with a gentle liquid dish detergent & water mix, dry with a clean towel. After washing you’ll likely see the smudges and marks still hanging in there. You can buff out each smudge with a lint-free towel and some pressure, but try one of these items instead to bring back the shine and quickly remove those pesky fingerprints and smudges:
  • Olive Oil (just a dab will do)
  • Mineral Oil (Baby Oil)–Just a dab will do
  • Club Soda (especially good for removing streaks and heat stains)
  • Rubbing Alcohol
  • Vinegar (great for polishing too)
Apply directly to a lint-free cloth and wipe down surface, follow up with a clean dry cloth to bring appliance to a mark-free shine.
  • Avoid using cleaners or cleaning tools that are abrasive since they can mar the surface (even some soft-scrubbing creams can cause damage).
  • When cleaning the surface, wipe down the appliances along the grain of the stainless steel for best results.
  • Don’t clean stainless steel with bleach (diluted or otherwise), this can damage the finish.
  • Don’t forget to open the refrigerator or oven door, you’ll likely see a mess of smudges along the edge of the door.

How to clean maytag stainless steel finish on appliances

HOW TO CLEAN MAYTAG STAINLESS STEEL REFRIGERATOR:

Do not use abrasive or harsh cleaners such as window sprays, scouring cleansers, flammable fluids, cleaning waxes, concentrated detergents, bleaches or cleansers containing petroleum products on plastic parts, interior and door liners, or gaskets. Do not use paper towels, scouring pads, or other harsh cleaning tools.

How do I clean and care my stainless steel surfaces such as refrigerator or any other stainless steel made appliance?

NOTE: Just because a cleaner is a liquid does not mean that it is nonabrasive. Many liquid cleaners designed to be gentle on tile and smooth surfaces still damage stainless steel.

> Avoid Citric acid

-it can discolors stainless steel. To avoid damage to the finish of your stainless steel appliance, do not allow these substances to remain on the steel finish:MUSTARD,TOMATO JUICE,MARINARA SAUCE,CITRUS-BASED SAUCES,CITRUS-BASED PRODUCTS.

If you want to clean safe and keep the sparkling steel you can purchase STAINLESS STEEL WIPES this wipes is ideal for cleaning food spills, grime and stains leaving surfaces shining like new. This wipes is for stainless parts only make it sure this stainless steel wipes to come into contact with any plastic parts.BUT THE SAFEST WAY TO CLEAN STAINLESS STEEL SURFACES IS TAP WATER WITH CLEAN WHITE CLOTH.

I have a GE SxS model number gss22jepabb that doesn't keep the refrigerator part cold. We have replaced both thermistors in the freezer and last night the motherboard. Refrigerator is still not cold and...

Close the doors and look to see if the fresh food door is down lower then the freezer door. If it is adjust the fresh food down up until it is at the same level as the freezer door. The reason why I suggest this is hard to explain but it is a legitimate repair. This page does explain http://www.appliance-repair-it.com/GE-refrigerator-repair.html Look under the section titled damper/door switch.

Door sensor is not working, inside light stays on

This may be a simple switch with corroded contacts. Try this:
Locate the button that controls the light and depress it fully, then let it fly out, snapping it several times to see if it will clean itself up.
If not, it will have to be replaced and this with varying degrees of difficulty depending on how it is mounted.
Since it is a Sears brand appliance, go to the Sears parts department on line and enter your model number. Nearly all Sears/Kenmore appliances will be listed (among with many other brands) and there will be an exploded line drawing of the device that will help you locate what must be removed for this replacement. You can also order that part while you are there if you decide to replace it yourself.

Removing Door Panels on Sub Zero 532

Hi, there is a metal strip that runs down the middle of each door the entire lenth. It is held on with two magnets. Once you pull that strip of metal off, you will see five screws that hold the door handle on. Remove thos five screws and the entire handle comes free. Slide out the panel and replace the handle, screws and metal strip ion reverse order. Take your time removing the magnetic metal strip as it is a very soft metal and could possibly bend or kink up on you.

Hope this helps. I'm having some trouble locating any company that makes stainless stell to match the appliances. All of the metal companies say the appliance manufaturers have a propriety type of lock on the appliance metal finishes. I also have the 532 model.

Good Luck

Finish on "stainless steel" door is deteriorating

Refrigerator was sold as 'stainless steel', but is not, a magnet won't stick to it.
There are many different alloys that are called 'stainless' steel but all of them have some chrome, some nickel and some steel. Depending on the strength of the magnet and the specific alloy, it may or may not adhere. Generally, the higher chrome and nickel content, the less magnetic it will be.
I think that the brushed surface of your fridge was coated with a kind of clear-coat to prevent fingerprints from adhereing to the brushed surface and that clear-coat is now missing in the areas of concern.
The only cure for tha would be the wholesale removal of the doors and the remaining clear finish and then respraying it with a quality clear finsh.
Ain't progress grand?
We considered all stainless stuff for our new home a couple of years ago, decided we liked black better and now hate that too.

Kenmore Dispenser Locks

You will be very glad to know I have an answer to your problem. I am guessing that your refrigerator was manufactured in 2002 between about March and November. This part does not really matter but I am giving you this as a history lesson. If I am correct Your model # starts with 253. and that means it was manufactured by Frigidaire for Sears. There was a glitch in the board that is in the panel you replaced that causes the problem you have described. You need to replace the board in the touch panel and your problem is gone. You will need to have the model number in order to order the part. The part will be available through Sears or other appliance parts dealers.
