Powercom BNT 1500AP quit working after power outage
After a short power outage (20--30 sec.) the UPS was out and would not restart. Additionally, the circuit breaker on a power strip plugged into the UPS output was tripped. I suspect there was a surge. Is there a replaceable surge module in this unit? If so, how do you get at it?
Re: Powercom BNT 1500AP quit working after power outage
From your description it appears one or more batteries are bad..The circuit breaker on the Power Strip..which more then likely is a 15 Amp..tripped due to over current conditions..check the batteries and reset the circuit breaker..That should take care of it

1. Open the UPS housing using a screwdriver. 2. Check the fuse. If is busted, have it replaced. 3. If the fuse is alright, check the battery terminal for the stored voltage. It must be at least + or - 10% of the rated voltage of the battery. The rated voltage is located at the battery. (12 volts). If the voltage is below, 8 volts or only 30% of the rated voltage. It must be replaced. 4. If the battery
The battery will have to be changed if you want to keep the old one.
What i've seen mostly here in south africa. When the battery life has ended they customer opens the ups and takes out the battery and then connects a car battery to the terminals. The then close the ups and let the car battery stand outside the ups.
