Question about Toys
I purchased 2 of these kits from Michael's 'from Santa' for my kids. NEITHER box has instructions, even though the box clearly states it is to be included. Their website bites and does not even list this product! Can ANYONE help out? I have no idea what temp to bake them or for how long or anything else.
I emailed Mega Brand's Consumer Affairs Dept and received the following instructions re Rose Art's Super Shrink Art:
Super Shrinky Dinks Art
Step 1: Place a sheet of Shrinky Dinks over a design with the rough side up. Trace the design including the thin cut line around the edge. When tracing letters, draw your own cut line approximately ¼” away from the letters.
Step 2: Color and decorate your artwork with the other colored pencils. Be sure to stay only on the rough side of the Shrinky Dinks.
Step 3: Ask an Adult to help you with this step. Cut out your colored design from the Shrinky Dinks following the traced cut line. Make sure all of the edges are smooth. Do not leave any sharp corners or they will become very pointy when the art is shrunk. Use a hole, punch if you want to make a key chain.
Step 4: ADULT SUPERVISION REQUIRED FOR BAKING. Pre-heat your home or toaster oven to 325*F (163*C) NO MICROWAVE. Put your creation onto a non-stick cookie sheet with the colored side up. Place in oven and watch until it shrivels up and then flattens out.

I went to the shrinkydinks.com website...'cause I'm old and that's what they used to call them. I found the baking directions there. It says your supposed to cut a brown paper bag into a rectangle that you place on a cookie sheet (turn up the corner of the paper rectangle so you can pull it off easier) bake them on the side you colored UP at 325 for 1-3 minutes. After baking, remove the paper from the cookie sheet (with the shrink art still on the bag I'm assuming) and use a pad of paper or something heavy that won't adhere to the plastic to press flat for 15 seconds. If my directions are unintelligible please go to the website above yourself. My 6 year old keeps talking to me while I am typing this.

The shrink art should curl, but then it should also flatten itself back out by the time its done

I used the toaster oven at 285 degrees and within seconds the size changed. I used the bottom of a tin can to keep the hot shrink art from curling.

I have no instructions to do the art project and my grandaughter really want to work on it.
