Sony DSC T10 Camera - Image Size

Hi. I have the above digital camera. I currently have the image size set to 7MP. Currently away on holiday and transfering pictures to a website. Clearly 7MP is to large, so format required is VGA. I want to keep the 7MP image and also require a VGA copy of the images. The only way I have found to do this is by making a VGA copy of the 7MP picture for each photograph I take - this is time consuing as can only do one at a time. I was on the understanding that the Sony Cybershot cameras have a setting where you can have it on 7MP but it also records a VGA copy of all piccies for you automatically ready for trasfer to PC etc...I have looked through the menu functionaliity and do not see a way/option to do this (unfortunately I do not have the manual with me). Any ideas? Hope you can help. Thanks in advance Cheers Jim

Hi, I have Sony Cybershot DSC w320 digital camera of 14.1 MP. Can you please tell me how I can take the pictures on less Mega Pixcal so that the size of file get reduced. Thanks, Prateek

The image size determines the size of the image file that is recorded when you take an image. The larger the image size, the more detail will be reproduced when the image is printed on large format paper. The smaller the image size, the more images can be recorded. To change the Image Size in the Camera, press and select the MENU-->Image Size-->Desired Size [(640×480)VGA or (2592×1944)5M] The quality of the VGA Image is very less when compared to the 14M.
Good Luck

How to use change resolution

The screen resolution of the Camera cannot be changed. The option in the Camera is to change the Image size which will increase the MegaPixel rate of the Camera. This can also be called as resolution. This can be changed by touching the Image Size icon displayed on the Camera screen. The settings available for Still Image Settings and Movie Image Settings in the DSCT70 Camera are given in the image given below:

I have a sony dsc t20 I lost the manual and now I don't know how to set the camera to take pictures at the max image size 3264 x 2176 (3:2), how to set it,please explain in steps if possible

Under menu items - look for Image Size, that set the size of image - nothing in manual on Pixels - I would set to FINE and 8MB that would be the MAX size of image. From the Cyber-shot® Handbook link on page 10 - it says the 8MB setting is for 3264x2448 - I cant see how to change the aspect ratio to get the 3:2 for 3264x2176

Distorted/damaged pictures

Please check the image size (pixels x pixels) setting or the resolution (MP). Seems like the camera is shooting in low resolution. Have you used this memory card on a mobile phone or another camera? Format the memory card and try again.
