Make sure that the middle "needle" is lining up with the hole. Sometimes they get bent off-center. If it is lining up, slowly, but firmly press it on while using a twising motion back and forth.
The connection is meant to be kind of tight, and may be more on a new connection that has not been used before.

Converter box will not stay on - starts green light then switches to red

I have one of those right here attached to my computer so I can watch TV on the PC. The red-green light is the power indicator. Your converter is turning off for some reason. Possibly it is getting a signal from another remote, and turning off. You can block the converter's remote sensor with something (black tape works) and then change the channels with front panel buttons if it has them.
Mine has power buttons for both the TV and the converter, so watch out for that.

Is the Ematic AT103B Converter Box compatible with Suddenlink cable/digital service?

No, the Ematic AT103B is an over-the-air digital ATSC tuner and will also can convert the digital signal to analog NTSC for older TV tuners. It will not work with any cable service and is for "cord-cutters". The AT103B requires an antenna to receive your local OTA channels. Depending on where you live, you may get some channels with an indoor antenna. You will get better reception with an outdoor antenna. See or for details on the channels you can receive with an antenna pointed in a particular direction.

The Ematic set top box does provide an HD signal output and a DVR (time-shift function) so it is more advanced than the first generation OTA converter boxes. The original (available with the government coupon) converter boxes only gave an SD output.

I hope this helps.

Cindy Wells
( gives a very conservative list of available channels but assumes an external antenna. lists the channels that are likely to be received with a variety of antenna strengths. An antenna signal amplifier can improve the reception. (Digital stations will not be seen if the tuner can't lock onto the signal.) However, when the amplifier fails, you may find some channels will not be received at all.)

These answers do not fit my question. One day, on three different sets in my home, where I have received NBC for years just quit working. Did NBC quit broadcasting? It is not snowy, etc, it is just no

Ok This is what I found out and hopefully found your solution..
Have you heard of Double Rescan?
The Federal Communication Comission Designed a Process called double rescan.
Double Rescanning erases and thenreprograms the channels in the converter box an digital TVs memory.
To Double Rescan, you will first need to disconnect the antenna from the converter box or antenna.
Then disconnect the converter and or digital tv power supplies from the wall. Wait a minute before plugging them back in. The antenna should still be disconnected.
With the antenna disconnected run the channel scan function on the coverter box or digital tv. When the scan completes you will have completely removed any channel data the converter box or digital tv, had in its memory.
Now it's time to rescan for real.
Do this by reconnecting the antenna to the converter box or digital tv and running the channel scan function again.
Thus the double rescan is born.
If the double rescan doesn't work, then try some tips and tricks to get your converter box up and running..I will have to look up the url again that has the tips and tricks...
If the double rescan doesn't work let me know and I will look up more options..
I really hope this works..

I purchased the RCA antenna and the end of the cord does not fit on the port of the zinwell box.

Unfortunately there is no way to make it fit. You will need to purchase an antenna. A paperclip unwound will work as a pretty good antenna temporarily and if you already have an antenna you can use it unless the problem is that the antenna you already had wasn't bringing in all of your digital channels.

Im not getting any signal weak or strong! What am I doing wrong?

What's your source for signal? You need an antenna to be the capture source for your signal that has a wire going from the antenna to the INPUT of the box. That's usually coaxial input. The box is the middle component between your TV and antenna.

Lost installation instructions

First unplug your current antenna from your tv and plug it into the "Antenna In" coax port in the back of your converter box. Then take coax and run it from the only other coax place on your converter box back to where your antenna was previously hooked in on your tv. If after you run "scan" on your converter box it is saying " no signal " or "signal lost" or something along those lines, go to to see what type of antenna will best fit your location then print it off and bring it to a local store that sells antennas, they should be able to direct you to the right one.

GE spacesaver 05GP009

I had this same problem, I wanted to use this tv with a converter box and the only way to do this was to hook up the converter box with an external antenna to the small 3.5mm input on the back. If you go to radio Shack and get an "F to 1/8" Adapter"the radio shack part number is "278-257". It worked perfectly. I'm able to get many clear channels, and with the converter box I now have remote control. It works well. Good luck, I hope this helps
