On a laptop you have a built-in card reader. But on a desktop you must have an external card attached to a USB port. If you want to download pics from the card then 1. Buy a card reader for your type of card and attach it to the computer via the USB port.

windows doesn't always need software to read pics from a camera.

are you trying to watch the videos that are on your phone and put them on your computer. if so, you can buy a usb stick that has a slot made for the cards that you use for the phones to take pic and videos....and put the usb into your computer and then you can download your videos onto your computer or your pics. hope this will help...
