Question about Dometic RM2652 Refrigerator

1 Answer

Refrigerator gas flame goes out when traveling, otherwise it's ok

It's model # RM 2452, Serial # 547000112. I put some aluminum foil around the base of the "chimney" , suspecting wind was the culprit and now it stays on much better, but still goes out once in a while. Will that foil cause any problems? Should I add more until it doesn't blow out any more? Thanks for your input. Don

It should have a little tin cover over it.

That should work just fine, but i've seen some people take high temperature insulation like for heaters and cover the vent so you don't have so much air movement, wont burn and its breathable.

1How do I remove small pieces of aluminum foil which are stuck to the bottom of my oven? 2 If I can't remove the small amounts of alum. foil, Will still be able to use the self-cleaning feature?

Hello Wendy;

My name is Peter. I am a retired field service appliance technician.

You can try to use a putty knife.

When your oven goes into the self cleaning model, you are burning off grease. The burning off of aluminum foil is nothing compared to burning off the grease.

You may see some small flame. But, this will soon pass. Your cleaning cycle can handle this without causing any damage.

Our refrigerator works on AC. When switched to lp gas it sometimes come on and works and then goes off. Then we can't get it to work again. Then it will work if we turn on the hot water hea

It seems like a gas pressure problem. Possible blockage or kinked pipe or faulty regulator on the gas bottle. If the fridge runs ok only when you use the gas hot water, that would change the gas flow / pressure. LP gas products are normally around 1.5 to 2.75 kpa pressure. If you have access to a manometer, the gas pressure can be checked. (NB/ You should hold a gas service licence to do this)

Clean air intake located on bottom of heater using compressed air or feather duster. Use auto inspection mirror and flashlight to see under the unit.

Age of water heater appear on label on side of tank.
Look for serial number.
Powerflex is American water heater product (AO Smith)
First 2 digits of serial number is year of manufacturer, digits 3-4 are week during year.

My oven when i close the flame goes off

If the oven will light and work with the door open but flames out with the door closed, you have the air input blocked somehow. I know some people line their ovens with aluminum foil, but you have to make sure that you have the air flow.

Pilot light on baxi bermuda 51/5 electronic, gas fire wont ignite, calling for heat but still doesnt ignite or click

Sometimes the thermostat wire (not sure of the technical name) gets oxidized and can't sense the heat (it's there as a safety measure so that when the pilot light goes out, the gas shuts off). If it isn't to hard to get to, sometimes you can use some aluminum foil to clean the wire so that it senses the heat of the pilot light flame. Make sure the main unit is off, and let the unit sit for awhile to make sure there is no residual gas hanging around. If this doesn't work, you might have to get a specialist out to replace that piece. Hope this helps.

sounds to me like your other burner isn't getting the same amount of gas flow. what you need to do is give your grille a good cleaning and check the lines for any leaks. you will always smell gas so it will be hard to tell by smell alone. Test your lines by wrapping them tight with foil or something removable and turn your grille on to see if the flame gets bigger.

My dometic rm 2612 stops working at least once a day the check light goes on.

Your 'frige has either; a 12 volt power supply or, a gas flame to circulate the refrigerant gas to cause absorption refrigeration to work; check or, replace your power supply as it 1. holds open the gas valve relay, 2. heats the gas with a heating element.

Not cold enough

you may not have good air flow around the backside of the fridge.  You may not have enough insulation.  The unit my be low on freon.
