Fault with the main power supply regulator board. If the DC voltage output from this card to main board and panel is abnormal, this kind of flickering can occur. Check and replace damaged component/s at its main power regulator [SMPS] section circuit. Contact any service technician. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. It will be best to replace the power supply regulator board as card basis rather than making "Surgery" to it; which usually will make loss for both money and precious time.

The problem i'm having is, when you turn the tv on it has a split screen with the left side shaken off a little bit. if you give it a tap on the left side it will flicker and the whole screen will come on.

We have a 42" Model XV42L HDTV10A 100-240V,2.5A,50/60HZ....when we turn the TV on the screen is flickering and then shuts itself off....sometimes it will come on for a few seconds and then shuts off

1. Need Model # of set and the brand so I know if its a plasma, LCD, or CRT set keep me posted

TV requires main board replacement because problem seems in video processing section.

If you bought it new in this last August, don't put up with it but get it fixed under the warranty. That is what warranties are for.

Did you measure diagonally from corner to corner? This is usually how all manufacturers quote screen size. Hope this helps

You can have them repaired but, usually the cost of a new plasma panel exceeds the cost of replacing the set.

It's the LCD panel damage. You need to replace the whole LCD panel to get this problem fixed.
