Question about Acer Aspire 1360 Notebook
My acer Aspire 3680 laptop's space bar fell off recently and i just found out that it is no longer covered by warranty.Would it take a full keyboad replacement or could the spacebar just be reattached by itself.I'm not sure what to do and i just wanted an estimate as to how much it would take to get just the space bar replaced and where i could possibly get this done
The space bar key is connected tothe keyboard a little bit differently then any other key.
There is a metal retainer connectedto the space bar key (on some keyboard models). Separate the retainer from thespace bar key with a flathead screwdriver.
Install the retainer back inplace as it shown on the picture. You have to engage the retainer with thesmall hooks on the keyboard.
Put the space bar key back inplace and gently press on it with fingers until it snaps back iAcer laptop spacebar fell off - clip_image008.jpgr />
That’s it. The space bar key isinstalled back in place and should work as before. If you still cannot fix yourkeyboard, then you’ll have to find a new oneand replace it.
Pleas rate my solution on fixya if you are done.

Tips for a great answer:
If you were to log on to the acer.com web site, I think you will be pleasantly surprised as
usually one is able to download if available, by model number,
Customer Instruction Manuals,
list of Dealers,
spare parts and service, Driver
Installation Instructions as required.
This is the best way of ensuring up to
date drivers for your system and they are free of charge!
are no XP drivers to be found with Microsoft as XP is no longer
manufacturers may have a limited number of Drivers still listed.
I hope this helps.
