Monitor I have a emachine with a samsung syncmaster 151v monitor. I just reformatted my hard drive using Windows xp pro. My monitor went all to hell. I cannot change res from 640 x 480 and 4 colors. I tried reinstalling driver but it just kept saying that the program had to close. I went through the troubleshooting and it is telling me that there is no adapter installed. Can anybody help.

Your resolution is set to high for the monitor to accept it. Go into control panel and click on Display then click on display setting and lower your resolution keep going lower until your monitor accepts the resolution size and your monitor should work for you.

You need to format your hard drive. Set your boot device to cdrom in your bios. Boot using xp cd.DO a reinstall of windows and it should give you the option to format or delete partitions on your hard drive. if that doesnt work try putting the hard drive in another computer to see if it works. Or you can buy a hard drive enclosure that allows you to use your hard drive as an external device.

This can be a fuse or the CRT tube or even a transistor, I would rather try to find a technical shop that can determine the problem, just be carefull that they dont charge you to check. Thus it will be for yourself to establish if it's worth it. Most of the time it is.

Yes,Because Windows 7 is taking the higher amount of Ram.So the videos will be very poor and also system will be slow down.You must increase your Ram to 1 GB. (or) Use windows xp.

Hell, Sorry to hear your having problems your analysis sounds correct but lets make sure it's not something else first. Can you give me more details on the drive Brand, IDE/SCSI, model number. Do you have access to a computer with a CD burner?

do you mean by xp black OS? have you let others fix your computer like reinstalling or reformatted your computer? if so, they might have used a fake windows..

No, you need to go into your computer's BIOS and set the ahcp mode to IDE. Then windows xp will see it just fine.

If this computer came with XP Home, and you don't have a disc, then they would have put the restore files in a separate partition on the hard drive. Do you have the manual for the pc? It's possible to recover your system without losing everything. What happened when you used the recovery disks and XP Pro?
