My 55R-WP4H was working and just quit last night. When you turn it on it acts like it will then all you get is the blinking timer led. I took that electronics tray out and looked for the cold solder spots on the pin 10 on flyback it looked fine. I went ahead and soldered up the legs a little anyways. No fix. Is there anyway to test this thing before I drop 200 down on it?
a 6ya Technician can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.

Your convergence has failed and needs to be repaired. Once quick test is to goto your convergence menu and see if you can adjust red and blue. If not its has failed and needs to be fixed. You can call in a repair shop or you can get the parts and instructions from www.TvRepairKits.com and do the repair yourself. Its a fairly easy DIY fix.
Thanks for using FixYa. The power supply of your sharp TV might have failed. It could be due to swollen/bulged capacitors on the power board. It can also be due to the Flyback transformer, which generates the high voltages(part of high voltage circuit). If you have disassembled the TV before then you can check for the swollen cap.s and also for any loose connector cables from power board to other boards.
Please do accept the solution if the issue is resolved or else revert for further assistance.
I called SHARP electronics and didn't stopp calling until I got the head of cstomer relations. After about 18 months I finally got them to replace the digital board assembly with no cost to me. They agreed this was a defective part and at first offered to pay half ($537 - my half). again, I was persistence with this being a defective part. Key here is don't give up! Sharp needs to stand behind their product, period. I don't care if I am out of warranty.
Here is the phone number I have for Customer Relations
Hope this helps.
i have the service manual in PDF format if you are interested. also, i have a 55r-wp4h that i can part out if needed. i really need a flyback for it, but don't want to pay the 200 bucks from sharp (tv was given to me to fix). Or, if you have given up on yours, i am willing to buy your flyback, maybe the board.
This problem may have been coming from the Flyback Transfromer or the Tippler, you have to be a technician to adjust that! if you are, well first thing is to put the TV ON and sent up all the level to max for the brightness & Contrast, then after try to adjust the Flyback screen voltage for hi bright, if it work there, try back now to see if you are getting any control of the menu of brightness & contrast to work! please be careful, there about 28K volts to 35K volts, this can kill anyone... IF YOU ARE NOT A TECHNICIAN PLEASE DO NOT OPEN THIS TV....
