Elitebook 8460p does not connect to projector

My elitebook constantly connects and then disconnects to projectors (different ones). This results in switching on/off of projected image.

SOURCE: i con't connect with lcd projector, xp windows

The video output will automatically switch to the data projector first when you power up the data projector first and then boot up the laptop.
When you power up the laptop first you can toggle the Windows image between the LCD screen and the video port/data projector by pressing the Fn key plus the F4 key. Pressing these keys each time will switch the display from LCD screen to video port only, to both LCD screen and video port, and back to LCD screen only.

SOURCE: "no signal" message when laptop is plugged into projector

There is a key on the keyboard that has blue text on it. Something to the effect of LCD or CRT. With the monitor connected and turned on, press and hold the FCN KEY as well as the LCD/CRT key. While holding the FCN key keep hitting the CRT key until the image transfers to the external monitor

SOURCE: I have an HP DV9000

I think it's probably FN+F8 that may do this on the HP laptops. The key should have a little icon on it in the same color as the function key (typically blue) that will toggle the screen from the laptop screen to the external. There are usually 3 modes to this toggle
1. Laptop screen only
2. External screen only
3. Mirrored on laptop screen and external screen

So try toggling with the FN+F8 key combination.

Also you can probably start up in safe mode to disable the external VGA toggle.

When you see the HP Splash screen, start tapping the F8 Key to bring up the boot menu. From there choose safe mode and see if you get the video back in safe mode....After that reboot and see if it will bring up the video in normal viewing mode.

Good Luck

F35-WQXGA Barco projector Model number: R9023422 SN 2017320059 showing cirictal error at sart ip adress

If your F35-WQXGA Barco projector is showing a critical error at startup with an IP address, here are a few steps you can try:
  1. Check the IP address: Ensure that the IP address is correctly entered and that it matches the IP address assigned to the projector. You can verify the IP address by checking the network settings of the projector.
  2. Check the network connection: Ensure that the network cable is properly connected to the projector and that the network is properly configured. You can try connecting a different device to the network to ensure that it is working properly
  3. Check the projector's logs: The projector may log errors and events that can provide more information about the issue. You can access the projector's logs through the projector's web interface or by connecting to the projector through Telnet or SSH.
  4. Check the network settings: Ensure that the projector's network settings, such as the IP address, subnet mask, and gateway, are correctly configured. You can check the network settings through the projector's web interface or by connecting to the projector through Telnet or SSH.
  5. Check the network connection: Ensure that the network cable is properly connected to the projector and that the network is properly configured. You can try connecting a different device to the network to ensure that it is working properly.
  6. Check the firmware: Ensure that the projector's firmware is up to date. You can check for firmware updates on the Barco website or by contacting their support team. You can also try reinstalling the firmware to ensure that it is not corrupted.
  7. Perform a factory reset: A factory reset can reset the projector to its default settings and may resolve the issue. You can perform a factory reset through the projector's web interface or by connecting to the projector through Telnet or SSH.
Do let me know the result please.

Is it doing this while your printer is still connected to your 8460p? Disconnect your printer. Power down your printer. Depress and hold the "go" and "select" button while turning it back on. If that doesn't work, uninstall and reinstall the print driver.

I am trying to hook my notevision projector to my laptop so that i can show a powerpoint. I did not receive a cord with my projector. Which cords will i need? I received a usb to usb and VGA cord but i...

I tend to use the VGA cable. Once connected, switch the laptop on until you get to the desktop, then switch on the projector. Some will see the signal, if not, simoultaneously press your FN and relevant 'F' key to send the signal out to the VGA. You may need to do this 3 times, once to send to projector, one to send back to laptop screen and then once to send the signal to both projector and laptop screen. Sometimes this can take a short amount of time. You may want to change the projector settings to the VGA input so it doesn't constantly search for a source. If you still have problems, go into properties on your laptop and advanced. you m,ay need to unclick the box saying 'Extend to..........' (You should find what I mean from this, I am in front of a pc therefore the settings are slightly different.)

If nothing then works, it may be your video card.

Good luck

Projector is not able to project red from the vga cable

I assume connecting a monitor/lcd panel display doesn't exhibit the missing red? To narrow this down, try using the cable with either a different projector or monitor/flat panel display. In short, does the problem follow the cable to these other devices? If so, then even though there are no pins bent over, the cable is probably bad. Cables can develop an internal connection break, even without showing any external evidence. This will usually occur at a connector end, and is often the result of overflexing, bending or other straining of the cable near the connector. Can you borrow another cable from a friend? A couple of other possibilities: 1. A broken solder connection at the VGA jack inside the projector. This can occur, again, if the connection is stressed (flexed, jammed, pulled on etc.). 2. The circuitry just beyond the VGA jack, which processes the video information could have a defect, not passing the Red info. The latter problem is one for a capable technician, and depending on expertise, you might be able to repair a broken solder connection.
