The problem is (i had the same problem) if its itunes or something then the songs are incoded. What you need to do is to simply take the music you want from your library onto a disk and re enter it into your comuputer. it should work now.

Im having trouble putting music on my psp

Hi drew_haker,
Please be reminded that PSP is compatible with these Audio formats: MP3, AAC and WMA. If you have these file formats, putting music on your PSP will be so easy for you. Here are the procedures you can follow in transferring your music files:
1. Using USB cable connect your PSP to your computer.
2. On your PSP, press HOME button.
3. Then choose SETTINGS, afterwards USB CONNECTION.
4. Just wait until your computer tells you that a new USB device has been connected, then show you a new generic hard drive, usually E: or F:.
5. Now, double click on your MUSIC folder and just drag your music files from your PC going to the said folder. If you haven't created MUSIC folder just create one, to organize the files.
6. Once done copying your desired music tracks, press the "O" button to disconnect PSP from PC.
To play your music, just go to the music icon. Look for "Memory Stick" and you should be able to find all your favorite music!
Hope it helps.
Thank you for using FixYa.

Tracks were synced but player says no tracks how

For the PSP you must create a music folder on the memory stick after the memory stick is formatted by the PSP. Then you add your music to that folder. More detailed instructions can be found at us.playstation.com under PSP support and under manuals and search for copying music files.http://www.us.playstation.com/Support/Manuals/PSP

Loading music on psp

All music placed on the PSP's memory stick must be placed in the folder labeled "MUSIC". Within this folder, you may place .mp3 or .wma files, or create another folder within the MUSIC folder (to separate by artist or album, for example).

Note that the music must be in either the folder MUSIC or in a folder inside MUSIC. In other words, you can't have the music in a folder that's in a folder that's in MUSIC.

Downloaded music, shows artist name but no tracks??

It could be the wrong format. I used to play music off my psp. I'm guessing if you use iTunes, and imported a CD, its going to make your songs AAC format, which is also known as MP4. I have posted a link to where you can set the different compression methods. If you are using WMA format, you are using an even less compatible format, and if you import it into iTunes, it will convert it as well. To convert already imported music into iTunes, once you set the preferences to MP3, right click on the song, and click "create MP3 version." after that you may reveal the song in the finder/explorer by right clicking the song, and clicking "show in finder" or "show in explorer"
