Boss BV9055 Power Up Problem

I have just purchased a new Boss BV9055 unit. I wanted to power up the unit before installing it to be sure everything in the unit is working correctly. I connected the unit directly to the 12 volt car battery with jumper leads / 1 lead to the car ground and the other to the red lead on the Boss. The problem is, is that the unit will not turn on when I push the power button. I know the circut is complete as I have check it with a volt meter. Is there anything else I need to connect to power up this unit? I realize I will not get any functions I just want to be sure the unit is functional before I install it in the dash.
Thanks for any suggestions!

12/29. I actually figured this one out myself after reading posts concerning parking brake over rides. It turns out that the Boss BV9055 will not powerup if the pink parking brake wire from the units wiring harness is not grounded. Once I grounded that pink parking brake wire the unit did power up.

I installed a Boss Bv9976b in my 1995 Honda accord, have no sound out speakers?

if you are sure the speakers are good and the wiring to the speaker is correct then you need to look at the Boss.. a volt meter on the output either at the speakers or the harness should tell you, as it fluctuates with the volume of the unit, hopefully you do have power to the Boss...

Just bought Kingston 2GB SD Card for Boss Micro BR but when maching turned on,its frozen on KEEP POWER ON! SONG LOADING!

This is likely a compatibility issue. Turn power off and remove the card and make sure the unit comes back to life.

SD card compatibility can be a problem.

You might want to go to as there is a lot of info on forums about recorders.

Unit still on while ignition is off

there is a wire that is called remote. that is the wire that cuts off the radio when the power is killed. you should have a red wire that is power a black wire that is negative and usually a yellow wire that is the remote wire. there is a wire coming out of your stock radio harness that is on when the ignition is on, and off when you cut the key off. that is the wire you want to hook the remote wire too. if the remote wire is not there, you can hook that yellow wire to anything in the car that is on when you turn the key on but off when you turn the key off, its called acc. you probly have yellow and red both connected togather.

Fan makes loud noise after computer warms up. I do not want to purchase a new power supply. Can and where can I purchase a new fan and can I easily inststall it?

If you open the case, it is doubtful you can touch the fan blade. They mostly are at the back of the case within the silver power supply. If you can touch the blades, it is most likely a case fan you have a problem with. They cost about $10.
If it IS the power supply, you can get one for about $35. I don't know where you live, but any computer store should be able to sell you a new case fan or power supply fan.
One thing you need to be sure of, though, is if it matches what Gateway has installed. They are known for installing hardware made especially for them and generic hardware may not fit in their case.
In that case, Google is your friend--type in the part that you need and your computer model and you'll find what you need.
If you go to a computer store, take the defective part in with you to match it.
