Boss BV9055 Power Up Problem

I have just purchased a new Boss BV9055 unit. I wanted to power up the unit before installing it to be sure everything in the unit is working correctly. I connected the unit directly to the 12 volt car battery with jumper leads / 1 lead to the car ground and the other to the red lead on the Boss. The problem is, is that the unit will not turn on when I push the power button. I know the circut is complete as I have check it with a volt meter. Is there anything else I need to connect to power up this unit? I realize I will not get any functions I just want to be sure the unit is functional before I install it in the dash.
Thanks for any suggestions!

12/29. I actually figured this one out myself after reading posts concerning parking brake over rides. It turns out that the Boss BV9055 will not powerup if the pink parking brake wire from the units wiring harness is not grounded. Once I grounded that pink parking brake wire the unit did power up.

I have a bv7320 head unit i am trying to install into my ford ranger. i have all of the wires matched up and im not getting any power to the unit. i have a amp powering all my speakers and a seperate one...

Since you did not mention the year of the vehicle, I cannot be sure of the power/ground connection. However, if you are sure of the connections, let us proceed. Check the constant 12 volt for power. Check the accessory power connection for 12 volts when the key is on. Check the ground connection for a good chassis ground. If you do not have power at these connections, check your fuses at the vehicle fuse box and at the stereo head unit itself (if one exists). If all power and ground connection are good and all fuses are good and, your unit still does not power on, check and make sure that the pins in the stereo harness are properly seated.
If all of these things check out as good then the issue is with the head unit.

Hey i wired up everything correctly in my 05 colorado with the BOSS BV9970 INDASH CAR DVD/CD PLAYER 7" TOUCHSCREEN and it wont turn on any suggestions to what the problem might be

There could be a few things wrong with it. The first thing I would do is check the ground wire. It should be solidly connected to a paint-free surface of your vehicle that is connected to the chassis. The next thing I would check is the connection between the power wire lead from the vehicle and the lead from the head unit. If neither of those are the problem, the only other thing it could be (other than a faulty wire somewhere along the power circuit, which can be tested for using an ammeter) is a lack of power to the power wire lead from the car. Test that wire using an ammeter and make sure it is receiving power.

Unit still on while ignition is off

there is a wire that is called remote. that is the wire that cuts off the radio when the power is killed. you should have a red wire that is power a black wire that is negative and usually a yellow wire that is the remote wire. there is a wire coming out of your stock radio harness that is on when the ignition is on, and off when you cut the key off. that is the wire you want to hook the remote wire too. if the remote wire is not there, you can hook that yellow wire to anything in the car that is on when you turn the key on but off when you turn the key off, its called acc. you probly have yellow and red both connected togather.
