Do not adjust any knobs as instucted in the previous thread if you TV have a convergence problem. Doing so will only make things worse. The blog does however show you how to fix other common problems with these sets.
Here are some of the most common symptoms and example photos of a convergence problem
Here is a quick test....
Using your original remote go-to the tv settings then goto the convergence section.
Try to adjust the red and then the blue convergence.
You should be able to move them up, down, left, and right.
If you can't move them in all directions your convergence chips are bad and should be replaced. This is a Convergance Problem?? - 2c07611.pnglem.
Solution #1
You need to replace the convergence chips and convergence resistors. Check the site www.TvRepairKits.com. They have put together a kits for most models. If you don't see a kit for your set send them a quick note and they will put one together for you. Their kits include a photo instruction guide, original OEM Sanyo STK chips, convergence resistors, pico fuses, etc.
Hi Bryan I you are not a tech and you dont have a schematic then it is useless for you to work on the tv call a tech to repair your tv.good luck.

Thanks for the reply, I got a service manual on my tv off the internet. I have located the convergance chip. Unfortunately, i live on a tiny island in Hawaii and we dont have any kind of electronics repair shop nor anyone on island with that trade. My only option is to put on a boat to a neighbor island and then ship back. Might as well look at buying new tv. But i thought i would atleast make a small investment to try and saving my tv. Now that i have the service manual, is it safe to say that my tv is indeed having a convergance problem?? Does the pink/purple/green colors spashed all over my screen symptoms of a bad convergence chip? If so, i was going to purchase and do the saudering myself. I am a computer techy guy by trade and think i can give it a shot. What you think??? Thanks, Bryan
I moved my Hitachi projection color tv to dust (my book says 46GX01B 50GX20B) and when I turned it on later that day I had a disorded screen at the top left of the screen and two thin lines of red and green going across. I look at my manual and under digital array it says the tube tubes can drift out of alignment due to normal bumps and vibrations or moving the tv and if I notice color rings or halos around objects, which I do I should converge (align) the colors ? What. So I tried to align by pressing the digital array button in the front and aligning my colors and I have 3 crosses that are way off line and will not move back. What can I do to fix this, to get them all align properly again.
Thank
